„Social Mix“ bezieht sich auf Einträge zur Unterschichtung der Arbeitsmärkte durch Immigration aus Ost- und Südosteuropa, auf illegale und informelle Arbeitsmärkte, Double Pecarity, informelle Ausbeutung der Refugees, Veränderung der Arbeitsmärkte in den Städten.

Pusieron su experiencia profesional salvando vidas al servicio de que niños, mujeres y hombres no murieran ahogados en su desesperada huída de la guerra y la pobreza. Pero ahora se enfrentan a la cárcel. Manuel Blanco, Julio Latorre y Quique Rodríguez, los bomberos sevillanos que fueron detenidos  en enero de 2016 en la isla de Lesbos mientras realizaban tareas de rescate de refugiados para la asociación Proemaid (Professional Emergency Aid), ya tienen fecha de juicio en Grecia. El próximo 7 de mayo, y después de que las autoridades griegas equipararan sus labores humanitarias con el tráfico ilegal de personas en grado de tentativa, se celebrará una vista en la que se enfrentan a diez años de prisión. Desde que fueron liberados vienen insistiendo en que su esfuerzo voluntario, el suyo y el de otras personas, no puede ser criminalizado.

Réunis en sommet mardi dans la capitale nigérienne Niamey, les chefs d’Etat du G5 Sahel (Mauritanie, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger et Tchad) ont réitéré leur demande à la communauté internationale d’un soutien financier supplémentaire pour leur force militaire conjointe, rapporte l’AFP, citant un communiqué du G5.

«Compte tenu de la pression qu’exerce la crise sécuritaire actuelle dans le Sahel sur les finances publiques des Etats membres, les chefs d’Etat invitent les institutions financières internationales (…) à mettre en place des ressources additionnelles pour y faire face», affirme le communiqué final du sommet publié mardi soir.

Nach Viktor Orbáns Besuch in Wien stellt sich die Frage, was Österreich noch von den Visegrád-Staaten (Polen, Ungarn, Slowakei, Tschechien) trennt. Nicht viel, sollte man meinen. Doch so einfach ist die Sache wiederum auch nicht. Wenn Österreich auf Orbáns Linie geht, bedeutet das nicht, dass man jene der EU verlässt. Österreich schert nicht aus, sondern läuft nur voran. Der Schulterschluss ist zwar vollzogen, doch das heißt nicht, dass man mit Macron oder Merkel, Tusk oder Juncker nicht könnte. Hier kann man mit allen, mit den Problembären in Budapest wie den Bussibären in Brüssel. Und dieser Spagat ist nicht so realitätsfern, wie er auf den ersten Blick erscheint. Vor allem in puncto Flüchtlingsabwehr sind sich die beiden Auffassungen schon recht nahe gekommen. Die Alpenrepublik spielt ihr doppeltes Spiel mit Bravour.

Trotz Kälte und Hunger sind derzeit 600 bis 800 Migranten und Flüchtlinge in Calais. Nach dem Gewaltausbruch vor wenigen Tagen sprechen sie selber von „Krieg“, die Lage ist verzweifelt.

Herr Abebe ist ein höflicher Herr. Wenn er mit erkennbar fränkischem Dialekt Deutsch spricht, drückt er sich gewählt aus. Er sagt Dinge wie: „Sie befinden sich hier im afrikanischen Calais“. Und: „Deutschland möchte, dass wir Äthiopier gehen. Wir sind Dublin-Fälle und Sklaven unserer Fingerabdrücke. Wo sollen wir hingehen?“

Herr Abebe sitzt zwischen Müll und zehn bis zwölf weiteren Migranten und Flüchtlingen auf Holzstumpen im Schlamm am Rande eines Waldes von Calais. Die Temperatur liegt um den Gefrierpunkt. Die Kälte kriecht unter jede Schicht Stoff. Mal regnet es, mal schneit es. Das kleine Feuer wärmt die Gruppe um Herrn Abebe.

ROME, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) — Italy announced Tuesday an additional 80 million euros (98 million U.S. dollars) in its investment to fight illegal migration from Africa.

Italy is allocating a further 80 million euros to its 200-million-euro Africa Fund, Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano told an Africa-European Union ministerial conference on migration here.

Foreign ministers from African and European countries of migrant transit and destination gathered at the second edition of the conference titled „A Shared Responsibility for a Common Goal — Solidarity and Security“.

This post is based on fieldwork I conducted in Serbia between July-August 2017. I conducted thirty semi-structured interviews and five weeks of participant observation with male Afghan refugees in order to understand how they are coping with their limited mobility due to closed borders along the Balkan route and restrictive asylum procedures. Despite the precarious state of limbo that these men are living in while they attempt clandestine border crossings, many of them claimed that life in Serbia was better than in Afghanistan. The men I met invariably used the term ‘refugees’ to describe themselves, despite not having been granted this status. To respect their self-identification, I will use this word to refer to them in this post. The accompanying photographs were taken by photographer Jenny Brover and are used with her permission. All names in this piece have been changed to respect the privacy of those I interviewed.

ROTHLEIN, Germany – It has been nearly a year since the al-Habab family from Damascus was resettled in rural Germany and, after years on the run, life is starting to look up.

Each morning, Sara, 12, and Sidra, 11, rise at 6 a.m. to catch the bus to school. Their father Abdul Rahman, 40, a former X-ray technician, goes to a nearby city for his German class. Their mother, 30-year-old Henan, stays in the cramped, two-bedroom apartment caring for their siblings, 3-year-old Hassan and 6-month-old Jenna.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – Most armed groups involved in human smuggling and trafficking in Libya have links to the country’s official security institutions, sanctions experts said in a confidential report to a U.N. Security Council committee seen by Reuters on Wednesday.

People smugglers operating with impunity in Libya have sent hundreds of thousands of migrants to Europe, mainly Italy, by sea since 2014. Thousands have died during the voyages.

“Armed groups, which were party to larger political-military coalitions, have specialized in illegal smuggling activities, notably human smuggling and trafficking,” experts reported to the 15-member Security Council committee. They said most of these armed groups “were nominally affiliated to official security institutions.”
