Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) announced today that they will launch a joint search, rescue and medical aid operation in the central Mediterranean between Africa and Europe. The life-saving operation will run from May to October, when thousands of people are expected to risk their lives attempting to reach safe haven in Europe.
Die italienische Küstenwache gibt an, dass sie heute 1.116 Bootsflüchtlingen vor der Küste Libyens gerettet hat (zusammen mit der italienischen Marine und diversen Frachtschiffen). Beunruhigend ist die Zeitverzögerung in der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der italienischen Küstenwache. Am Freitag / Samstag dauerte die Bekanntgabe der Rettungsoperationen über 24 Stunden. Derzeit (Sonntagabend) ist auch der Küstenwache bekannt, dass schätzungsweise weitere 1.000 Bootsflüchtlinge vor der libyschen Küste ohne Hilfe geblieben sind. Sie stehen unter Beobachtung aus der Luft, telefonischer Kontakt zur italienischen SOS-Zentrale besteht. Die italienische Kostenwache und Marine sollten laufende und anstehende Rettungsoperationen zeitnah bekannt geben, damit Bootsflüchtlingen in Seenot Aussicht auf Rettung gegeben werden kann und im Fall von weiteren Schiffskatastrophen keine Vertuschungsmanöver möglich sind.

Buques italianos han rescatado a casi 978 inmigrantes que intentaban cruzar el Mediterráneo en lanchas neumáticas, según ha informado la Guardia Costera italiana, que advierte que las operaciones aún continúan activas. En total, en lo que va de fin de semana han sido rescatados 2.782 inmigrantes. En las operaciones han participado buques de la Marina, de la Guardia Costera y un barco mercante. El buen tiempo ha propiciado un incremento en las intentonas de alcanzar Italia desde las costas libias. […]“
Das ägyptische Militär soll in den vergangenen Tagen ein grossen Flüchtlingsboot auf offenem Meer bombardiert haben. Das berichten anscheinend Flüchtlige eines anderen Boots, wie die algerische Zeitung „Journal d’Oranais“ berichtet. Die Angaben lassen sich derzeit nicht überprüfen.
Die ägyptische militarisierte Küstenwache hat in den vergangenen Monaten nachweislich mehrfach Flüchtlingsboote beschossen. Vor wenigen Tagen soll die ägyptische Marine Überlebende eines Flüchtlingsboots vor dem Nildelta noch bei der Rettungsaktion verhaftet und sofort abgeschoben haben. Aus der offiziösen ägyptischen Meldung lässt sich schliessen, dass mindestens 100 Bootsflüchtlinge ertrunken sind. Ob die Information zur Verhaftung und Abschiebung von über 100 Überlebenden nur eine Schutzbehauptung ist und in Wirklichkeit über 200 Bootsflüchtlinge bei der Schiffskatastrophe umgekommen sind, lässt sich derzeit nicht recherchieren.
Von allen Küstenwachen Nordafrikas steht die ägyptische Küstenwache und Polizei unter stärkstem Einfluss von Frontex und den italienischen Polizeiapparaten. Nach Ägypten – bekanntermassen die derzeit schlimmste Diktatur in Nordafrika – schiebt Italien ägyptische Bootsflüchtinge umgehend nach Landung ab.

E’ quanto si legge in una nota della Guardia costiera.
“Le segnalazioni sono giunte nel primo pomeriggio di ieri alla Centrale Nazionale di Soccorso della Guardia Costiera tramite telefono satellitare. Le unita’ con migranti in difficolta’ si trovavano tutte in un tratto di mare a circa 30 miglia dalle coste libiche. In zona sono stati dirottati vari mercantili ed inviate Nave Fiorillo CP 904 e una motovedetta classe 300, entrambe della Guardia Costiera.
