La guardia costiera greca, che ha raggiunto e ispezionato la nave, ha fatto sapere „che non è in difficoltà“. Il cargo „non ha alcun problema meccanico, nulla di sospetto a bordo“.

Non ci sono notizie di 179 persone, ma gran parte di questi potrebbero essere su due mercantili in viaggio verso la Grecia che si erano avvicinati al luogo dell’incidente del traghetto della Visemar noleggiato dalla Anek Lines. Sono i numeri aggiornati del procuratore capo di Bari Giuseppe Volpe sulla tragedia della nave incendiata e finita alla deriva tra le coste della Puglia e dell’Albania da oltre due giorni. Numeri aggiornati, ma non certi. Non è chiaro, ha detto il procuratore, quanti clandestini vi fossero a bordo (3 sono già sicuri); non è chiaro quanti passeggeri fossero saliti in overbooking (i sicuri sono 18). Che i numeri non tornassero si era capito già nelle scorse ore quando era emerso che tra le 310 persone recuperate 80 non figuravano nelle liste di passeggeri e membri dell’equipaggio (che non sono controllate in maniera severa come in aeroporto, ma comunque dovrebbero essere verificate).

Una patera de 6×2 metros ha arribado por sus propios medios a la costa de Famara (Lanzarote) durante la madrugada de este lunes con alrededor de una veintena de personas, según indica el único de los inmigrantes que ha podido ser detenido hasta el momento.
