Mit Hunden gegen Flüchtlingsprotest

Der „March for Freedom“ macht Halt in Luxemburg, wo die EU-Innenminister tagten. Die wollten die Flüchtlinge nicht anhören. Stattdessen kam die Polizei.

BERLIN taz | Seit drei Wochen sind sie unterwegs: 80 bis 100 Geflüchtete und UnterstützerIinnen wandern derzeit von Straßburg Richtung Brüssel. Unter ihnen sind Gruppen aus Deutschland, Frankreich, den Niederlanden, Belgien, Italien und Tunesien. Mit ihrem „March for Freedom“ protestieren die AktivistIinnen für Bewegungsfreiheit von Geflüchteten innerhalb Europas und gegen die Abschottungspolitik an den europäischen Außengrenzen, die seit 1993 mindestens 17.000 Menschen das Leben gekostet hat.

Sbarchi senza fine in Sicilia, gli arrivi in questo 2014 sono 47mila, 32mila profughi nelle strutture di accoglienza

Navi della Marina militare, della Guardia costiera, mercantili. Una „flotta“ di una ventina di unità in tutto sparse nel canale di Sicilia, impegnate nelle ultime 24 ore a soccorrere circa tremila migranti partiti dalla Libia su carrette del mare. Un’altra ondata imponente di arrivi, dunque, che fa salire il totale dal primo gennaio a 47mila persone, dieci volte più che nello stesso periodo del 2013. Numeri che preoccupano il Viminale, alle prese con un’affannosa ricerca di strutture d’accoglienza in tutto il Paese. E il governo vuole portare con forza il fenomeno all’attenzione dell’Europa nell’ormai imminente semestre di presidenza Ue. Arriva la bella stagione, il mare è calmo e la rotta Libia-Sicilia è sempre più battuta. Proseguendo con questo ritmo, il traguardo dei 63mila sbarcati nel 2011, l’anno record della guerra in Libia e delle cosiddette primavere arabe, è ormai a portata di mare.

This is the nth “migration emergency”, with thousands of people who escape wars and violence, and arrive on the Italian coasts. It brings, as usual, all its corollary of violations, illegitimate praxes, exceptions to rights, hypocrisies and exploitations. This is happening in the southern sea, where people still die, despite Mare Nostrum, as well as at the internal borders of Europe that entrap thousands of people in the first country of arrival. The same is for the “plan of extraordinary emergency” of the Italian government, that is a new opportunity for making money on migrants’ back. This is a scenario that the result of the recent European elections risks to worsen, transforming Europe into a real battle field, where borders play a fundamental role. Those who arrive today on the Italian coasts are escaping violence and persecutions.

Led by renegade General Khalifa Haftar, the Libyan warplanes raided Islamist extremists-held pockets in the eastern city of Benghazi, an army spokesman told Al Arabiya News Channel Friday.

The army targeted Sidi Faraj and al-Qawarsheh in Benghaz and destroyed an ammunition warehouse belonging to the militants in the northeastern port city of Derna, spokesman Mohammed al-Hijazi said.

La Guardia Costera libia intercepta una patera con 114 inmigrantes africanos rumbo a Europa

La Guardia Costera de Libia ha interceptado este jueves una patera con 114 inmigrantes africanos a bordo que pretendían llegar a las costas europeas.

„Hemos arrestados a este grupo de migrantes ilegales durante nuestra patrulla diaria, a primera hora de la mañana“, ha dicho un miembro de la Guardia Costera a Reuters.

„Los migrantes ilegales (interceptados) son de países subsaharianos“, ha apuntado este funcionario libio, detallando que „la mayoría son de Senegal“.
