Lampedusa, salvati 800 migranti
Le navi della marina militare sono intervenute a sud dell’isola per soccorrere due barconi. In mattinata l’arrivo a Pozzallo
LAMPEDUSA (AGRIGENTO) – Due barconi, con a bordo circa 800 migranti, sono stati soccorsi ieri a sud di Lampedusa dalle navi della marina militare, impegnate nell’ambito dell’operazione Mare nostrum.
Sul posto la nave Espero che ha salvato circa 400 cittadini extracomunitari a bordo della prima imbarcazione, mentre la nave Cassiopea è intervenuta per soccorrere la seconda imbarcazione con 450 migranti.

Gli uomini della Marina Militare Italiana, anche nei giorni di festa dedicati alla Santa Pasqua hanno compiuto il proprio dovere salvando 254 uomini, 62 donne e 5 bambini.I marinai della nave San Giorgio, l’ammiraglia dell’iniziativa “Mare Nostrum“, hanno intercettato un barcone che trasportava migranti a 50 miglia a sud di Lampedusa, già segnalato da un elicottero della Marina Militare stessa che ne ha segnalato la posizione. I migranti sono stati inbarcati sulla nave San Giorgio per essere trasportati al porto di Augusta.

Die USA hätten im Zuge der jüngsten Besuche von John Kerry in Algier und Kairo die algerische und die ägyptische Armee aufgefordert, in Libyen einzumarschieren. Saudi-Arabien und Katar würden das Abenteuer finanziell absichern. Damit würden die libyenschen Petro-Einnahmen direkt auch unter dem ägyptischen, tunesischen und algerischen Staat aufgeteilt werden, und die finanziellen Engpässe angesichts zunehmender sozialer Forderungen wären für die nächsten Jahre behoben. – Der Artikel erwähnt nicht, dass auch die EU ein Interesse an einer Militärinvasion Libyens haben könnte – um das Ablegen der Boat-people von den libyschen Küsten zu stoppen.

This is confirmed by Frontex risk analysis on the third trimester, i.e. summer 2013, according to which the number of arrivals by sea was increasing.

Deutsche Polizisten trainieren den libyschen Grenzschutz, obwohl der aus Milizen besteht, die teils schwere Menschenrechtsverletzungen begehen. Das geht aus einer Antwort des Auswärtigen Amtes auf eine Anfrage der Linken hervor.

The EP’s Directorate-General for External Policies just released an Analysis, “Mediterranean flows into Europe: Migration and the EU’s foreign policy,” in which it reviews the EU’s external policies and instruments relating to migration in the Mediterranean, including the Mediterranean Task Force established after 3 October 2013 tragedy at Lampedusa in which over 350 people died.The Analysis describes the serious shortcomings of the security-driven approach that has been taken by the EU.
