El Mediterráneo sigue siendo testigo del miedo, el hastío y de las ansias de huir de quienes se arrojan al mar esperanzados por que alguna embarcación de salvamento les intercepte por el camino, porque saben que de lo contrario no llegarán a tierra con vida.

El martes, el Lifeline, que inició su primera misión de rescate denominada Maydayterraneo el pasado día 22, logró rescatar a 315 personas que trataban de alcanzar Europa. «Estamos satisfechos», reconocía ayer el donostiarra Iñigo Gutiérrez, uno de los fundadores de la ONG Salvamento Marítimo, en una entrecortada conversación desde el barco que permanece alerta en aguas del Mediterráneo Central.

Un grupo formado por 15 personas de origen subsahariano ha alcanzado la costa de la bahía sur de Ceuta cerca de la medianoche de este miércoles a bordo de una embarcación a motor sin patrón con la que han partido desde las playas marroquíes más cercanas y han superado el espigón marítimo fronterizo del Tarajal hasta acceder a aguas jurisdiccionales españolas, donde ha sido interceptado por la Guardia Civil.

Según han informado a Europa Press fuentes de la Comandancia local de la Benemérita, los inmigrantes, 14 varones y una mujer, han sido acompañados por el Servicio Marítimo del Instituto Armado hasta tierra firme, donde han sido atendidos por el Equipo de Respuesta Inmediata ante Emergencias (ERIE) de Inmigración de la Cruz Roja, que ha certificado su aparente buen estado de salud como paso previo a su entrega a la Policía Nacional y posterior ingreso en el Centro de Estancia Temporal de Inmigrantes (CETI) local.

Rescatados ocho inmigrantes de una patera interceptada al sur de Almuñécar

Efectivos de Salvamento Marítimo han rescatado hoy a ocho personas de origen magrebí, entre las que podrían figurar dos menores, cuando navegaban a unas 30 millas al sur de Almuñécar (Granada).

Según ha informado a Efe fuentes de Salvamento Marítimo, la embarcación fue localizada en torno a las 10:15 horas por un buque que se encontraba en la zona, y posteriormente rescatada por la ‚Salvamar Hamal‘.

En la búsqueda participó el helicóptero ‚Helimer 220‘, el avión ‚Cóndor II‘ de la Operación Indalo y el buque ‚Kristella‘, que estaba por las inmediaciones.

Los inmigrantes, que se encuentran bien, serán atendidos por la Cruz Roja en el puerto de Motril (Granada).

Im Sommer hat die griechische Regierung die Verwaltung der Flüchtlingslager übernommen. Seitdem haben sich die Zustände massiv verschlechtert, kritisieren die Hilfsorganisationen.

Das Zentrum für Krankheitskontrolle im Norden Athens stellt in diesen Wochen in großem Stil Personal ein. Befristete Stellen für 850 Ärzte und Krankenschwestern hat die staatliche Behörde ausgeschrieben – ein außergewöhnlicher Vorgang im Griechenland der Schuldenkrise und der Sparpolitik. Der Einsatzort gilt als nicht sonderlich attraktiv. Gesucht wird medizinisches Personal für die Flüchtlingslager auf den Inseln in der Ostägäis. Doch seit die griechische Regierung im Vormonat das Management der Flüchtlingskrise von der Vielzahl der internationalen und lokalen Hilfsorganisationen übernommen hat, tut sich für die Griechen zumindest eine Chance auf. Es gibt neue Jobs, mit EU- Millionen finanziert wie schon zuvor die Hilfsorganisationen.

Clashes continued today in Sabratha, 80 kilometres west of Tripoli, between the Anti-IS Operations Room and the 48th Battalion although the intensity of fighting was much reduced according to an official in the town who asked not to be identified. Occasional firing of both small and heavy weapons could be heard, he said, but no deaths or serious injuries had been reported among either the combatants or the civilian population. The town remained tense, however, he explained.

He claimed that the Operations Room had gained the upper hand so far in the fighting – a claim denied by Ahmed Dabashi, the head of the local Amu brigade which overlaps with the 48th; many members of the former are also members of the latter and thereby receive an official salary. However, this evening there were unconfirmed reports that the operations room had taken Sabratha hospital.

Von verschiedenen Orten der westalgerischen Küste haben Jugendliche versucht, Boote zu besteigen, um nach Spanien überzusetzen. 26 Harragas wurden vor dem Ablegen von der Gendarmerie verhaftet.

Vingt-six candidats à l’émigration clandestine ont été interpellés, avant-hier, par les gendarmes d’Oran, Aïn-Témouchent, Mostaganem et Skikda. Dans la wilaya d’Oran un appel téléphonique via le numéro vert -le 1055- a permis aux gendarmes de Gdyel de mettre en échec une tentative d’embarquement clandestin à partir de la plage de Aïn-Defla dans la localité de Krsitel. Les gendarmes ont intercepté 7 jeunes qui s’apprêtaient à quitter le territoire national. A Aïn-Témouchent, les gendarmes de la brigade de Bouzedjar ont interpellé, avant-hier, à hauteur de la plage de Sebiat, commune de Bouzedjar, 9 personnes qui s’apprêtaient à rallier clandestinement les côtes espagnoles.

Théo Francken, Belgian Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, called on Sudanese agents to carry out identification checks in the Maximilian Park in Brussels, where many migrants found ‘refuge’. The European Association for the Defense of Human Rights (AEDH) strongly condemns the resort to Sudanese agents at the service of President Omar Hassan Ahmad el Bashir dictatorial regime, who is himself under two international arrest warrants for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The identification of Sudanese nationals and the following forced returns endanger the lives of these individuals and their families. This situation is not only worrying but unacceptable as it contradicts, among others, Article 19 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. The article provides that no one may be removed, expelled or extradited to a State where there is a serious risk that he or she would be subjected to the death penalty, torture or other inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. AEDH calls on the Belgian government to immediately end these undue, unjust and illegal practices and urges the governments of all Member States concerned to also immediately cease their collaboration with the Sudanese dictatorship.

ROME (Reuters) – The figures jumping from a small boat into the clear shallow waters and running ashore on an Italian beach look like troops practicing a D-Day-style landing, but this is no drill, and these are not soldiers.

The images, caught on camera, show what has become a increasingly common sight on the beaches of Italy’s southern islands – migrants from Africa landing in broad daylight.

“In the past these boats came at night,” said Claudio Lombardo, the local head of the Mareamico (Friend of the Sea) environmental group who filmed the scene on a beach near Agrigento in Sicily on Wednesday morning.

“When they came at night, all you saw was the abandoned boat on the beach the next day and the people were nowhere to be found, and that’s why we called them ghost boats.”

In Zawiya, 50 Kilometer westlich von Tripolis, befinden sich mehrere Aufnahmezentren, in die Migranten gesperrt werden, die von der libyschen Küstenwache aufgegriffen wurden. Der TV-Sender Sky hat sich Zutritt zu einem dieser Zentren verschafft und Berichte der Migranten aufgezeichnet: „Sie beschlagnahmen Geld und Telefone und fordern von unseren Familien eine Ablösesumme.“

Salvamento Marítimo ha rescatado una patera con cinco inmigrantes de origen magrebí, uno de ellos menor de edad, a unas 18 millas al sudeste del Cabo Sacratif, frente a la costa de Motril (Granada), adonde han sido trasladados, estando todos en aparente buen estado de salud.

Según han informado a Europa Press fuentes de Salvamento Marítimo, la infraembarcación fue avistada por el ferry Volcán de Tamasite que operaba en la zona, siendo movilizada la embarcación Salvamar Hamal, que acudió a su rescate, y dándose instrucción al buque para que permaneciera en las proximidades durante dichas tareas.

El servicio Emergencias 112 Andalucía, que ha informado en una nota de prensa que el menor tiene 16 años, recibía a las 14,15 horas el aviso de la interceptación de esta patera que navegaba a la deriva tras sufrir una avería en el motor.
