German Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economics and Energy Sigmar Gabriel arrived late Saturday in Cairo heading a delegation of some 120 investors to talk business and meet with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, state news agency MENA reported.The visit is expected to include the signing of economic agreements and memoranda of understanding.

The investors will be presented with possible investment opportunities in Egypt.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri met with Gabriel in Germany in January.

Germany and Egypt hope to bi-lateral trade would surpass 2015’s value of 4.4 billion Euros, foreign ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abuzeid said in January.

Last June, the German giant Siemens signed an 8 billion Euro deal with Egypt to supply and develop gas and windpower plants.
