España entrega a Marruecos a 7 inmigrantes tras llegar en patera a Chafarinas

España ha entregado a las autoridades marroquíes a siete inmigrantes de origen subsahariano que llegaron ayer a primera hora de la mañana a las Islas Chafarinas a bordo de una patera.

En declaraciones a los periodistas, el delegado del Gobierno, Abdelmalik El Barkani, ha informado hoy de que los inmigrantes, todos varones y adultos, llegaron a la Isla del Rey en torno a las 6:45 horas a bordo de una lancha neumática provista de motor, que quedó a la deriva tras haber sido rajada para provocar su hundimiento.

A 4-year-old child was reported drowned in the early hours of Tuesday as she and 28 fellow passengers tried to swim to the shore of Rho, a small islet off the coast of Kastellorizo in the southeastern Aegean.

The coast guard says it was able to rescue the other 28 passengers on board the craft that had set sail from Turkey as they tried to reach Europe, but the young girl drowned in the final scramble.

Greek coast guard officers have rescued over 200 refugees and migrants from Greece’s seas since Monday.

A Turkish admiral has shown footage of a migrant boat being sunk on the Aegean Sea by a Greek Coast Guard boat to a Greek Coast Guard commander, urging them to refrain from such acts, daily Hürriyet reported on Nov. 19.

Rescue services take another 22 survivors to safety on Gran Canaria

Twenty-four people are missing after the migrant boat in which they were traveling from Western Sahara to the Canary Islands capsized 128 nautical miles southwest of the archipelago on Tuesday evening.

Maritime rescue services have taken another 22 survivors to safety at Puerto de Arguineguín, in Mogán, Las Palmas province.

Nel frattempo prosegue il mistero dei 501 tunisini svaniti nel nulla dal 2011 in Italia: i parenti li hanno riconosciuti in foto e nei video a Lampedusa, ma il nostro governo non ha ancora saputo dare una risposta alla disperata domanda: “I nostri figli sono vivi o morti?”.

Der Tod des syrischen Jungen Aylan Kurdi löste Entsetzen aus. Seither sind fast 100 weitere Kinder vor Griechenlands Küste ums Leben gekommen, und Lösungen verzögern sich.

Anfang September gingen die schockierenden Bilder des toten syrischen Jungen Aylan Kurdi um die Welt. Er war nach dem Untergang seines Flüchtlingsbootes ertrunken, seine Leiche wurde an einen türkischen Strand angeschwemmt. «Nie wieder», antworteten Medien und Politiker unisono, doch seither hält die Überforderung mit dem Flüchtlingsstrom an. Eine Lösung ist nicht in Sicht, und das Sterben in der Ägäis geht weiter – mit steigender Kadenz: Seit Aylan sind fast 100 Kinder bei der gefährlichen Überfahrt ums Leben gekommen. Alleine letzte Woche waren es 28.

Así se destruye desde el aire una embarcación ilegal

Un helicóptero de la Armada española destruye con una ametralladora un barco dedicado al tráfico de inmigrantes en el Mediterráneo, tras rescatar a sus ocupantes

El Estado Mayor de la Defensa ha difundido por vez primera un vídeo en el que se aprecia cómo un helicóptero Sea Hawk, embarcado en la fragata Canarias, destruye desde el aire, con una ametralladora, una embarcación dedicada al contrabando de inmigrantes de la que previamente han sido rescatados sus ocupantes. La fragata española participa en la operación de la Unión Europea EUNAVFOR SOPHIA, dedicada a la luchar contra las mafias de la inmigración ilegal en el Mediterráneo central, entre las costas de Italia y Libia. El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU autorizó recientemente a los países que participan en la operación a destruir las embarcaciones de los contrabandistas en aguas internacionales. Desde su incorporación a EUNAVFOR SOPHIA el pasado 5 de octubre, la Canarias ha participado de modo directo o indirecto en el rescate de dos millares de inmigrantes en aguas del Mediterráneo.

One of the two rival authorities in Libya has threatened to send migrants to Europe unless the EU recognises its legitimacy. Jamal Zubia, a spokesman for the General National Congress (GNC), told The Telegraph, a British daily, in an interview published on Monday (2 November): „I have advised my government many times already that we should hire boats and send them [migrants] to Europe.“

„We are protecting the gates of Europe, yet Europe does not recognise us and does not want to recognise us. So why should we stop the migrants here?“.

He noted the GNC has no immediate plans to take the step.

Todos los que podían avisar lo habían avisado.Llegará el mal tiempo y, con él, la muerte. Ayer fue un día aciago en el Egeo. El drama llegó dentro de una antigua embarcación de madera sobrecargada con 300 almas a bordo camino de Lesbos. La cubierta, podrida, se vino abajo y eso aplastó a los que iban abajo. El equilibrio de cargas se rompió y eso provocó el hundimiento. En ese momento comienza su relato Óscar Camps, un socorrista de la ONG Proactiva, procedente de Badalona. „¿Sabes lo que son 300 personas gritando en medio del mar, unos agarrándose a otros para no ahogarse? Eso es lo que nos encontramos“.
