Die Proteste und Spannungen in Sidi Ifni halten an. Eine Gedenkgottesdienst für die Toten wurde verboten.
http://solidmar.blogspot.de/

From the start of the Libyan crisis, the EU has stood by the people of Libya in their quest for freedom. The European Council has expressed several times its strong solidarity with the Libyan people and the victims. As fighting went on in Libya, the EU remained at the forefront of international efforts to restore peace and stability in the country.
During the Libyan crisis, the EEAS Crisis Response Department led several missions on the ground to develop contacts with the NTC and make a preliminary assessment of immediate needs. Despite a complex political and security environment, the EEAS opened two EU officesin Libya: first in Benghazi (22 May 2011) and later in Tripoli (31 August 2011). The opening of these two EU Offices helped to increase the legitimacy of the pro-democracy movement.During the Libyan crisis, the EEAS Crisis Platformprovided effective operational coordination which allowed the EU to use more effectively all instruments at its disposal: political, diplomatic, military, economic, development, humanitarian. From March to October 2011, the Crisis Platform was convened at regular intervals to ensure the coherence of the EU response to the Libyan crisis.

Libya is now embarking on a historic transition process that should be based upon the respect for democratic values and human rights. The EU is ready to support the possibility for the Libyan people to realise their aspirations for a democratic society, to help Libya build a democratic constitutional state and to develop the rule of law. The transition should be a Libyan driven process to which the EU will contribute together with key partners. The objective is for Libya to rapidly embark on an orderly transition to democracy through a broad-based dialogue.

ATHENS/WARSAW, Jan 9 2013 (IPS) – The European Union is implementing a new border management system with tougher migration control the core aim. Major security and weapons companies are already reaping the benefits.

Frontex, the EU border agency, has financed major weapons and security equipment producers to present their equipment in demonstrations. European national border guards have participated in these demonstrations as potential customers, IPS learns.

[EN]
75,000 Syrian refugees live now in Libya without being placed in camps like are the Subsaharians. Among them, many used to work in Libya before the war, mainly in the construction sector. Whereas Syrians still arrive in Libya through Salloum (Egyptian/Libyan border), crossing becomes more and more difficult for men in age to serve in the army (18-45 years). http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/politics/Swiss_to_aid_Chadian_refugees_from_Libya.html?cid=34683554

Jan 9, 2013

Switzerland is to provide $2.9 million (SFr3.1 million) to help resettle Chadians who had been working for many years in Libya, and returned home during and after the uprising that overthrew Moammar Gaddafi in 2011.

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) signed an agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva on Tuesday. The money will go to support people now living in three remote regions close to Chad’s northern borders with Libya, Niger and Sudan.

It will be used over a period of two years to help the returnees reintegrate socially and economically.

To all protesters who fight for refugee rights in EU:

Hello dear friends,

it was very great and necessary to start protesting and protestcamp of refugees in austria by marching from Traiskirchen to Vienna (Votivpark)at 24th of nov. 2012. Even as the police has destroyed our camp in the night from 27th to 28th december 2012, police wanted to end our
struggels with heavy gear, but theyre are not successful in ending the demands. Meanwhile there are many setbacks by repression, politics and establishment but we dont want to loose our dignity and thats why we want to have another, better, bigger demonstration.

We will rise again (EU-wide) mobilize!!!
