Following different media sources, the first phase of the EU maritime military mission ‚Eunavfor Med‘ has begun already or is beginning this week. In this first phase several vessels, drones, helicopters, planes as well as submarines will be deployed in the Central Med, presumably close to Libyan waters. So far this is a surveillance mission to learn about smuggling networks etc.
