In Palermo kommen immer mehr Leute aus anderen Ländern an, die sich an B4p beteiligen werden. Insgesamt sind wir damit rund 35 bis 40 Personen (zuzüglich die 12 von der „Oloferne“). Die meisten werden mit der Fähre nach Tunis fahren. Heute morgen gab es die Pressekonferenz an der „Oloferne“. Es kamen nur ein, zwei lokale Fernsehteams, die Interviews führten, aber bei Beginn der offiziellen Konferenz verschwanden. Die vorbereiteten Botschaften wurden dann größtenteils vor Angehörigen unserer Kampagne vorgetragen. In Palermo wird uns deutlich, dass die italienische Mobilisierung nicht die Sozialen Zentren erreicht hat. Auch AnarchistInnen sind unsichtbar. Das gleiche gilt für linke Musikzusammenhänge. Das ist insofern schade, als dass es in Palermo mit „Gente Strana“ (http://www.myspace.com/gentestranaposse) eine sehr bekannte linke HipHop-Gruppe gibt, die in ihrem aktuellen Video die Problematik ertrunkener MigrantInnen vor Lampedusa und Sizilien aufgreift. Niemand aus diesem Spektrum, die von uns angesprochen wurden, wussten von B4p. Heute beginnt beginnt auf Sizilien das grosse Festival „Rap Militante“ (auf Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/306904262721706).

Nicanor Haon
Biography: GISTI militant since 2007 (Groupe d’Information et de Soutien des immigrés – France). Coordinating the project Boats4People from Tunis, where he moved from the beginning of 2012. Marie Barbier
Biography: after studying cinema and history, she began studying at the Institut français de presse (IFP) in Paris. Gianluca Solera

Biography: after a degree in international law, she became a professional journalist and member of the National Executive of Legambiente, the most widespread environmental organization in Italy. Besides doing the Environment and Legality Observatory, she writes the annual report on Ecomafia and dossiers on key environmental issues. Since 2011 she is the department coordinator on the Mediterranean Sea at the National Congress of Bari in which the association has sought to boost its efforts in the Mediterranean: a context in which it is active for several years with campaigns as “Clean up the Med” and “Goletta Internazionale”, about protected areas and biodiversity, with the fields of volunteer projects and development cooperation
Hamadi Zribi
Biography: Tunisian, with Italian citizenship, he studied in Brussels and moved to Italy for work. He worked for the Partito della Rifondazione Comunista, especially dealing with the immigration issues. He was a militant of the National Anti-Racism Network and other migrants’ movements. He founded in the late 90s the anti-racist association Kif-Kif, in Rome, who handled legal assistance and Italian courses to migrants. Last year he moved permanently to Tunisia where he met the movement of the mothers of Tunisian migrants that disappeared after the departure by boat to the Italian coasts: from that time he has constantly followed their struggle to learn the truth about their children
Anna Bucca
Biography: president of ARCI Sicily, she participated in the student and anti-mafia movements. In Arci since 1992, until 2001 she worked on international policies and decentralized cooperation, and she has participated as a volunteer in projects in Palestine and Israel, in the Saharawi refugee camps, in Maghreb, and in 2006 he followed the work of the first Tunisian social forum. Teacher, currently maintains a research on intercultural education, citizenship rights and processes of communication at the University of Palermo
Farouk Ben Lhiba
Biography: invited because of the disappearance of his children and his 21 friends, including 5 deaths and 16 missing in boat collision between Rais Ali 2 – with which they had started from Zarzis – with Elhouria 302, Tunisian army boat. After impact, the boats have been flown over by Italian aircraft. He came to Italy to ask for the photos, which could have been taken from the plane and to meet with European organizations to work with them. He also calls for opening of borders or facilitation to visa so that young people risk their lives to stop leaving by sea
