Un groupe de 20 candidats à l’émigration clandestine a été secouru, hier, à 20 miles marins, au nord de la plage de Cap Falcon, dans la wilaya d’Oran, par les forces navales de la façade maritime ouest.
Auf dem zentralen Mittelmeer ist es durch das brutale und unbesonnene Vorgehen der sogenannten Libyschen Küstenwache während der ersten Rettung der Sea-Watch 3 zu mindestens 5 Toten gekommen, ein Kleinkind wird vermisst. Ein Hubschrauber der italienischen Marine musste eingreifen, um weitere Tote zu verhindern. 58 Menschen befinden sich derzeit sicher an Bord der Sea-Watch 3, ein Kleinkind konnte trotz größter Anstrengungen unseres medizinischen Teams nicht wiederbelebt werden. Weitere Schiffbrüchige wurden von der sogenannten Libyschen Küstenwache verschleppt. Der Einsatz fand auf hoher See, 30 Seemeilen vor der Küste und damit weit außerhalb libyscher Territorialgewässer statt, der Eingriff der Libyer stellt einen schweren Völkerrechtsverstoß dar.
Gegen 7 Uhr erreichte die Crew der Sea-Watch 3 heute ein Notruf der Rettungsleitstelle in Rom. Nördlich von Tripoli hatte ein sinkendes Schlauchboot in internationalen Gewässern einen Notruf abgesetzt. Die Crew der Sea-Watch 3 kam etwa zeitgleich mit einem Patrouillenboot der Libyschen Küstenwache bei dem Seenotfall an und begann, die Schiffbrüchigen an Bord zu nehmen.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Authorities in Greece and Turkey say at least three people have died and several more are believed to be missing after a boat carrying migrants from Turkey sank off the Greek island of Kalymnos.
The Greek coast guard said 15 people were rescued and one body was recovered after the wooden boat sank in mild weather conditions before dawn Friday. Two other bodies believed to be from the same vessel were found by the Turkish coast guard.
A search for the missing migrants continued in Greek waters.
Insgesamt haben Schiffe der Mission Sophia/Eunavfor Med bei insgesamt drei Einsätzen 263 Boat People retten können. Ein Schlauchboot ist gekentert, dabei sind 23 Menschen ums Leben gekommen, deren Leichen geborgen wurden. Wahrscheinlich gibt es einige Vermisste.

La nave spagnola Cantabria ha recuperato i corpi di 23 persone che hanno perso la vita dopo il ribaltamento di un gommone diretto verso le coste italiane. Ad accorgersi dell’imbarcazione al largo delle coste libiche era stato un elicottero che stava perlustrando la zona.
Bei Rettungsaktionen im Mittelmeer hat die libysche Küstenwache die Migrant*innen erstmals nicht nach Libyen zurückgebracht, sondern anderen Schiffen übergeben, die sie nach Italien gebracht haben.

La Guardia costiera di Tripoli non riporta più a terra le persone recuperate in mare, ma le consegna ad altre navi perché poi sbarchino in Italia.

Soccorsi dalla Guardia costiera libica, consegnati alle navi militari italiane, trasbordati sull’Aquarius di Sos Mediterranée. È il nuovo racconto che arriva dal Mediterraneo. Martedì sera, informa il portavoce della marina libica, l’ammiraglio Ayob Amr Ghasem, circa 120 migranti alla deriva a bordo di un gommone, sono stati soccorsi dalla Guardia costiera libica a «circa a due miglia dalla piattaforma petrolifera di Sabratha e 60 miglia a nord di Zawiya», ha precisato il portavoce che fa riferimento a una località a circa 50 km a ovest di Tripoli.
Inoltre sette cadaveri sono stati recuperati a bordo di un gommone diretto verso l’Italia al largo delle coste libiche durante un’operazione di soccorso coordinata dalla centrale operativa di Roma della Guardia Costiera. Sconosciute, per ora, le cause della morte.

A crackdown appears to be pushing the problem across the border in north Africa, with dozens of bodies now washing ashore
“The dead are someone’s husband, someone’s child, wife, sister or brother. Would you bury your loved ones in this manner?”
The short Tunisian man gestures towards makeshift graves containing the bodies of dozens of drowned migrants. This may have become a common enough sight across the border in Libya in recent years. Now a crackdown on people trafficking in that country appears to be pushing the problem into Tunisia.

Durante el domingo, los efectivos de Salvamento Marítimo han rescatado a más de 130 migrantes en las costas españolas.
Al menos 671 personas han sido rescatadas en aguas españolas a bordo de decenas de pateras en lo que va de semana. Una cifra que viene a confirmar un aumento de llegadas de migrantes por vía marítima que no se recordaba desde hace una década.
En total, durante el domingo han llegado 135 personas migrantes a las costas españolas.
Al menos 12 personas que viajaban a bordo de dos pateras fueron recatadas durante la mañana del domingo en el Estrecho de Gibraltar. Sobre las 03:00 de la mañana el helicópetor Helimer 220 localizó una primera embarcación con ocho personas que fueron rescatadas y llevadas al puerto de Tarifa.
After the increasing number of migrants reaching Italy from Tunisia during the last 2 months, the Tunisian and Italian governments had „a deal“ and they accelerated the process of deportation, they deported 120 during the last week and they intend to deport more during the next weeks.
The Tunisians in Lampedusa are kept in inhuman and difficult conditions in detention centers and the italian authorities preparing to deport them.
Since two days most of them are in a hunger strike and their health condition is getting worse every hour. They wrote different statements refusing the deportation and asking for their right to stay and for the freedom of movement. Their Families in Tunisia are protesting and asking for the same things.

La semaine dernière, j’ai parlé de cette affaire qui nous a tous révoltée : la mort et la disparition de plusieurs dizaines de jeunes qui avaient tenté de quitter le pays à bord d’une frêle embarcation. Ils seraient peut-être aujourd’hui heureux d’être ailleurs, triomphants mais inquiets, certes confrontés à de nouvelles incertitudes mais bien aises d’avoir réussi leur évasion si leur petit rafiot délabré n’avait étrangement été percuté par un navire militaire chargé de la surveillance des frontières maritimes.

Le drame a suscité de nombreux commentaires qui m’incitent à en dire encore un mot. Il est courant quand on évoque l’émigration clandestine de rappeler les conditions sociales, politiques, culturelles qui disposent tant de jeunes tunisiens à affronter une fois, deux fois, dix fois, l’aventure périlleuse de la « 7ar9a ». Le mot qui revient le plus souvent pour expliquer leur motivation est le « désespoir ». Je ne discuterai pas de la pertinence de ce type d’analyses, tout à fait opportunes pour pointer du doigt la responsabilité de nos gouvernants et sans doute pour une part justifiées. Elles tiennent plus cependant du genre de décryptages auxquels s’adonne (parfois utilement) la sociologie, voire la psychologie, que de l’analyse politique proprement dite, c’est-à-dire de l’analyse qui est au cœur du combat. Mais ce que je leur reprocherai surtout, c’est qu’en se concentrant sur les raisons qui s’imposent aux volontaires pour la « 7ar9a », en faisant de leur vouloir la simple expression du désespoir, on les ampute de leur dignité. Ces jeunes, prêts à traverser la Méditerranée sur de vieux Zodiacs de croisière complètement pourris, seraient finalement des êtres passifs, victimes du pouvoir, victimes des « passeurs », victimes de leur propre désespoir.

Today in the afternoon more then 50 people gathered in the harbour of Thermi/Lesvos in commemoration of the dead of the European border regime. Among them were survivors of a shipwreck on 23rdof April of this year in the North of Lesvos as well as people active in rescue. The memorial happens once every year since October 2013 and was initiated by the Welcome to Europe network.

When we started to remember this year, who we have to mourn for, we realized that we are more and more confronted with death even after people have survived the sea. We had to commemorate today also friend who died last winter in the hot-spot of Moria, because they had been left during winter in terrible conditions. We are in close contacts with families that they waited too long to be reunited with their beloved even if they had the right for family reunification and died before. If you really want to mourn the dead of the Sea, you have to respect also the survivors. The only solution to end their suffering is to create safe passages, to give the people their right to move freely – and for those who are stuck here to finally open the islands. This is why every memorial for us is combined with the promise to tear down the borders that killed them and to create another, a welcoming Europe.
