Salvamento Marítimo ha iniciado hoy la búsqueda de una patera con 30 inmigrantes a bordo que al parecer partió anoche de la playa marroquí de Tan-Tan hacia Lanzarote, según han informado fuentes de esa sociedad estatal, que la pasada semana trató de localizar otra embarcación similar.

The “Seawatch” is at the moment in the small harbour of Hamburg-Harburg, almost opposite a big ship which was just opened for the accommodation of 220 refugees who arrived in Hamburg.
Before the press conference, Miriam and me gave interviews about Watch the Med and the Alarmphone to journalists of Radio 1 (Berlin) and NDR.de (Hamburg). The people of the ship also said something very positive about the alarm phone and asked us to put some flyers on the table for the journalists.

BRUSSELS – Turkey is appealing to the European Union to help it combat the phenomenon of ghost ships used by smugglers to send hundreds of migrants at a time toward European shores.
Turkey’s ambassador in Brussels, Selim Yenel, told EU lawmakers Wednesday that his country needs „proper information, coordination on these issues.“ He called on the EU to provide satellite imagery and other intelligence.

Sono partiti da Zuara, in Libia, in un barcone sovraffollato i 121 superstiti dell’ultima tragedia avvenuta a 50 miglia dalle coste libiche e sbarcati in tarda notte nel porto di Augusta assieme alle dieci salme recuperate dalla nave Dattilo della Guardia Costiera e ad altri 318 migranti precedentemente soccorsi. Il bilancio delle vittime però è destinato ad aumentare. “Secondo le informazioni che abbiamo acquisito e in base alle testimonianze dei superstiti ci sarebbero una cinquantina di dispersi” – spiega il sostituto commissario Carlo Parini, responsabile del gruppo interforze di contrasto all’immigrazione clandestina della Procura di Siracusa.
Dopo l’ultima strage nel Canale di Sicilia la Commissione anticipa di due mesi la sua strategia. Le quattro aree prevedono un sistema comune di asilo, l’attrazione di talenti, la lotta al traffico di esseri umani, più risorse per il controllo delle frontiere

E‘ l’annuncio arrivato oggi dal commissario all’immigrazione, Dimitris Avramopoulos, e dal primo vicepresidente della Commissione Ue, Frans Timmermans, in seguito all’ennesimo barcone che si è tragicamente capovolto nel Canale di Sicilia causando la morte di almeno 10 migranti.

Un total de 341 inmigrantes han llegado hasta las costas andaluzas en lo que va de año a bordo de 15 pateras y embarcaciones neumáticas, según los datos recopilados por Europa Press. La última ha sido interceptada este mismo martes a dos millas al sur de Adra (Almería) con 17 personas de origen magrebí, dos de ellas posiblemente menores de edad.

The boat started from Zuwara in Libya. There were 5 women on board. They were brought to „refugee shelters in Ben Guerdane and Mednine“.
There were 42 people from Nigeria, 17 from Somalia, 13 from Gambia and 8 from Mali.

I corpi di 10 migranti, vittime del ribaltamento di un gommone carico di profughi, sono stati recuperati nel Canale di Sicilia dalla nave Dattilo, che sta facendo rotta verso Augusta. Sull’imbarcazione ci sono altri 439 extracomunitari.
