Die italienische Marine-Operation „Mare Nostrum“ hat sich in den letzten Wochen mehrfach weit von der libyschen Küste zurückgezogen und nicht eingegriffen, um ertrinkende Bootsflüchtlinge zu retten. Nach Untergang eines großen Flüchtlingsschiffs 40 Seemeilen vor der libyschen Küste hat es am gestrigen Freitag vermutlich über 200 Tote (2 Flüchtlingsschiffe) gegeben. Inzwischen bergen die italienischen Kriegsschiffe auch andere Leichen der in den letzten Wochen Ertrunkenen, am heutigen Sonntagmorgen 10 Tote.

Altri 103 immigrati sono stati recuperati dalla Marina militare nell’ambito dell’operazione “Mare nostrum“ nel Canale di Sicilia. L’ultimo gruppo è stato prelevato dalla fregata “Scirocco“. Tra gli extracomunitari ci sono 13 donne e 14 minori. Intanto la squadra mobile di Ragusa ha arrestato ieri sera un egiziano, lo scafista dello sbarco di 311 migranti avvenuto mercoledi‘ scorso a Pozzallo. L’uomo, reo confesso, e alcuni siriani, avevano creato un gruppo su facebook per avere notizie sul viaggio. All’organizzazione sono andati 500 mila dollari, allo scafista seimila.

Father Zerai received a second distress call from another boat, but was not able to determine its location.

„Al-Darsi added: „The committee has actually started to draft the constitution although, according to the constitutional declaration, the timeframe is barely four months (went into effect in May); haste does not build a homeland.“ He said: „We are striving to finish drafting the constitution in time.“ The Constitution-Drafting Committee includes 60 members, 20 for each of the three regions in the country, namely Tripoli (northwest), Fazzan (south), and Barqah (in the east).“

Militärische Intervention in Libyen?

Nach Angaben der Londoner Times sollen seit einer Woche Einheiten der algerischen Armee in Libyen operieren. Die Times beruft sich auf die Angaben von Olivier Guitta, Direktor eines Londoner think tanks. Die Einheiten würden in Libyen gegen Kämpfer von al-Qaeda im islamischen Maghreb vorgehen. Die Gruppe wird für die Besetzung eines algerischen Gasfeldes im Januar letzten Jahres verantwortlich gemacht. Bei der Aktion und der anschließenden Erstürmung durch algerische Sondereinheiten hatte es dutzende Tote gegeben.

„Vor Italiens Küste rettet die Marine zur Zeit viele Flüchtlinge, die in Booten aus Afrika nach Europa übersetzen. Julius Müller-Meiningen sprach darüber mit Christopher Hein, der einer italienischen Hilfsorganisation vorsteht.
BZ: Herr Hein, es sollen mehrere Hunderttausend Menschen in Libyen auf die Überfahrt warten. Stimmt das?
Hein: Es war sogar von 600 000 Menschen die Rede, die kurz davor seien, nach Italien zu kommen. Das ist unnötiger Alarmismus. Wir schätzen, dass sich derzeit 130 000 Flüchtlinge aus Syrien in Libyen befinden. Insgesamt leben dort über eine Million Ausländer. Aber die arbeiten teilweise dort und haben sicher nicht alle vor, nach Europa zu kommen.

Immigrazione, ancora sbarchi in Sicilia: a Pozzallo nave con tre morti a bordo
Sbarchi, morti e disperazione. Non c’è sosta nei viaggi della speranza dalle coste del Nord Africa verso la Sicilia. A Pozzallo, dove la notte scorsa sono arrivate 420 persone, altre 100 sono attese in giornata. Con loro ci sono anche alcuni compagni di viaggio deceduti. Secondo quanto si è appreso i morti sarebbero tre. Già in preallarme la Protezione Civile e gli uffici comunali per affrontare la nuova emergenza. Ieri sera invece erano arrivati nello stesso porto del ragusano altre due navi mercantili, una con a bordo 322 e un’altra con 100 persone. I nuovi arrivati sono afghani, siriani, algerini, libici, somali e sudanesi.
