„Doku gibt Flüchtlingsdrama ein Gesicht

Der Mauretanier Mohamed wäre auf der Überfahrt nach Lampedusa fast ertrunken. Der Fischer Vito rettete ihn. Phoenix erzählt die Geschichte der beiden.Seine Hoffnung auf eine bessere Zukunft in Europa hätte Mohamed fast mit dem Leben bezahlt.

Jedes Jahr wollen Tausende von Flüchtlingen über das Mittelmeer nach Europa gelangen. Viele sterben bei dem Versuch, das Ziel ihrer Hoffnungen auf ein besseres und menschenwürdigeres Leben zu erreichen. Gestorben wäre auch fast der Mauretanier Mohamed. Gerettet hat ihn der italienische Fischer Vito. Die Geschichte der beiden schildert an diesem Donnerstag um 22.15 Uhr die Schweizer Dokumentation „Mohamed und der Fischer“ auf Phoenix. Der Film von Marco Leopardi und Ludovica Lona verleiht den Opfern und Betroffenen des Migrationsdramas vor der Insel Lampedusa anhand der ruhig und bewegend erzählten Geschichte des Afrikaners ein Gesicht.

Una carovana tra incontri, scambi e costruzione di percorsi comuni

Dopo dieci intense giornate si è conclusa la Carovana organizzata da Ya Basta e Un Ponte Per in Tunisia. Durante il Forum Sociale delle Migrazioni a Monastir abbiamo condiviso la Carta di Lampedusa e incontrato chi, come noi, vuole costruire un Euro Mediterraneo basato sui diritti e non sulle frontiere e sul controllo. Abbiamo incontrato una delegazione dei rifugiati di Choucha, che da tre anni vive nel limbo del campo profughi al confine con la Libia, già attraversato da Ya Basta nel 2011. Abbiamo inoltre ascoltato la disperazione delle madri dei ragazzi dispersi in mare nel corso della traversata, o che sono rinchiusi nei CIE in Europa, e che con determinazione chiedono che vengano rivelate le informazioni in possesso dei governi del nord, per poter conoscere la sorte dei propri figli. At least 800,000 migrants are about to depart the North African coast for Europe, while the reception system in Italy – the first landing point for the vast majority of these – is already on the brink of collapse from tens of thousands of earlier arrivals, official said Tuesday. „We no longer have a place to take them, and locals are overwhelmed by the constant arrival of foreigners,“ Giovanni Pinto, head of the Immigration and Border Police agency, told a joint meeting of the foreign and defence committees in the Italian Senate. They call them Ciyaalka Badda or children from the sea. This phrase is used when referring to the young Somali refugees who come by boat from North Africa.

The expressions of the eight young Somali men leaning against the wall outside Termini station tell a complex story. They are caught in the midst of a political turmoil. Trapped between one country that disregards their existence and another whose very existence is in question, they struggle to find their place in the world.

Since the collapse of the government over two decades ago, Somalia has become the second largest refugee producing country in the world. In the last ten years, there has been an influx of African refugees and migrants to southern Europe. Using Italy as a mere transit point, their goal is to reach the rest of Europe. However, many do not make it past Italian territory.

It is their hands that tie them to Italy. […]“

Nach heutigen Konferenzen mit Militärs und Regierungskreisen ruft der italienische Innenminister die EU und die UNO auf, Verantwortung im Kanal von Sizilien und gegenüber der Krise in Libyen zu übernehmen. Die militärische Operation „Mare Nostrum“ sei befristet. Am 1. Juli übernimmt Italien die EU-Präsidentschaft.

La nave cisterna “Costanza M” della società armatoriale Augusta Due, diretta in un porto libico con un carico di 30 mila tonnellate di gasolio mentre si trovava in acque internazionali è stata dirottata dalla Marina italiana per soccorrere oltre trecento migranti a bordo di tre barconi in avaria.

La petroliera, dopo il completamento delle operazioni, tornerà indietro per sbarcare in un porto siciliano i migranti soccorsi.

Sei mesi dopo la strage di Lampedusa il proseguimento dell’operazione della Marina militare, che da ottobre a oggi ha salvato 26mila vita umane, è in discussione. Costa troppo. E c’è chi sostiene che incentiva gli sbarchi. L’Italia chiede l’intervento dell’Europa, ma gli altri Stati tacciono

I salvataggi dei migranti nel Canale di Sicilia potrebbero essere interrotti. Per il proseguimento dell’operazione Mare Nostrum l’Italia chiede aiuto all’Europa che, però, fa orecchie da mercante. «Penso che l’operazione debba diventare europea ma temo che non accadrà. Sono abbastanza pessimista: non riusciremo ad avere la partecipazione degli altri Stati membri», dice a left il sottosegretario con delega alle Politiche europee Sandro Gozi.

[…] Italiens Marine hat im Mittelmeer fast 2000 Flüchtlinge aufgegriffen.

[…] Das erste Patrouillenschiff brachte 395 Menschen in Sizilien an Land, mit zwei weiteren Schiffen sind mehr als 1500 Flüchtlinge zu den Häfen Augusta und Porto Empedocle unterwegs. Damit hat die italienische Marine nach eigenen Angaben in nur wenigen Stunden fast 2000 Menschen im Mittelmeer aufgegriffen, von sieben überfüllten und schlecht ausgerüsteten Booten.
