„Mare Chiuso“ (Verschlossenes Meer)

In dem Film von Stefano Liberti und Andrea Segre erzählen Geflüchtete, vor allem aus Eritrea und Somalia, ihre Geschichte: Sie flohen durch die Wüste nach Libyen und versuchten von dort, per Boot nach Italien zu gelangen. Einige haben es geschafft, aber die Gruppe, um die es vor allem geht, wurde, als ihr Boot in Seenot geriet, aufgrund eines Abkommens zwischen Italien und Libyen im Jahr 2009 von italienischer Marine mit Gewalt wieder nach Libyen zurück gebracht. Der Film enthält erschreckende Handyaufnahmen und Aussagen von dieser Bootsüberfahrt und der Rückschiebung sowie Berichte von der Inhaftierung und Folter der Zurückgeschobenen in Libyen. Nach Beginn des NATO-Bombardements in Libyen floh im März 2011 ein Teil dieser Menschen nach Tunesien und landete im Lager Choucha. Andere versuchten noch einmal, per Boot nach Italien zu gelangen. Viele kamen dabei ums Leben. Ein überlebender Eritreer reichte wegen der Rückschiebung mit Hilfe eines Rechtsanwalts Klage gegen die italienische Regierung vor dem Europäischen Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte in Straßburg ein, und dessen Verhandlungen und Urteil – Italien wurde für schuldig befunden und musste den Überlebenden Entschädigungen zahlen – sind auch Teil des Films.
Der Film ist in mehreren Sprachen und wird mit englischen Untertiteln gezeigt.
Die Gruppe „Lampedusa in Hamburg“ und andere Flüchtlinge sind herzlich eingeladen, nach dem Film auch von ihren eigenen Erfahrungen in Libyen, auf dem Meer und in Italien zu berichten und darüber zu diskutieren, wie wir gemeinsam gegen diese menschenverachtende EU-Migrationspolitik aktiv werden können. Eine Möglichkeit ist die Beteiligung an der Demonstration von „Lampedusa in Hamburg“ am 17.8. um 14 Uhr ab Hauptbahnhof/Glockengießerwall.

„Mare Chiuso“ (Closed Sea)

In the film by Stefano Liberti and Andrea Segre, refugees, especially from Eritrea and Somalia, tell their stories: They fled across the desert to Libya and tried from there to reach Italy by boat. Some arrived, but the group, which the film is mainly about, was in distress at sea and, because of an agreement between Italy and Libya in 2009, deported back to Libya. The film shows horrible video pictures, taken with mobile phones, and statements about the shipwreck and the push back, also reports about imprisonment and torture of the people who were deported back to Libya. After the bombardment of Libya by NATO had started, a part of these people fled to Tunisia and found themselves in the camp Choucha. Others tried again to get to Italy by boat. Many of them lost their lives. A survivor from Eritrea took legal action with the help of a lawyer because of the push back against the Italian government at the European Court of Human Rights in Strassburg, and the trial and judgement (Italy was found guilty and had to pay compensation to the survivors) are also part of the film.
The film is in different languages and will be presented with English subtitles.
The group “Lampedusa in Hamburg” and other refugees are very welcome to tell after the film also about their own experiences in Libya, at sea and in Italy and to discuss, how we can become active together against this inhuman EU migration policies. One possibility is to take part in the demonstration of “Lampedusa in Hamburg” on the 17th of August starting at 2 p.m. from Hauptbahnhof / Glockengießerwall.
