Vor der griechischen Küste ist erneut ein Flüchtlingsboot gekentert.
Dabei kamen mindestens elf Menschen ums Leben, unter ihnen fünf Kinder. Wie die Küstenwache mitteilte, werden noch 13 Insassen vermisst. 26 Personen konnten gerettet werden. Die Flüchtlinge waren mit einem Holzboot in der Türkei gestartet und vor der griechischen Insel Farmakonissi in stürmischer See untergegangen.

Wieder sorgt ein Flüchtlingsdrama in der Ägäis für Entsetzen. Mindestens sechs Kinder sind bei der Überfahrt von der Türkei nach Griechenland ertrunken. Zudem wurde ein kleines Mädchen bei Cesme tot am Strand gefunden.
Drei Monate nach dem Tod des syrischen Flüchtlingsjungen Aylan sind in der türkischen Ägäis weitere sechs Kinder ertrunken. Ihre Leichen, darunter die eines Babys, wurden an der Küste der Provinz Izmir im Westen der Türkei gefunden, wie die amtliche Nachrichtenagentur Anadolu berichtet.

Idomeni/Gevgelija – Inmitten der angespannten Lage an der griechisch-mazedonischen Grenze ist ein Flüchtling durch einen Stromschlag ums Leben gekommen. Der vermutlich aus Marokko stammende Mann sei nahe der Grenze zu Mazedonien auf einen Eisenbahnwaggon gestiegen und dabei mit dem Kopf an eine Hochspannungsleitung gekommen, sagte der örtliche Polizeisprecher Petros Tanos.

A 4-year-old child was reported drowned in the early hours of Tuesday as she and 28 fellow passengers tried to swim to the shore of Rho, a small islet off the coast of Kastellorizo in the southeastern Aegean.
The coast guard says it was able to rescue the other 28 passengers on board the craft that had set sail from Turkey as they tried to reach Europe, but the young girl drowned in the final scramble.
Greek coast guard officers have rescued over 200 refugees and migrants from Greece’s seas since Monday.

La ONG Ca-minando Fronteras ha denunciado la muerte de al menos dos inmigrantes subsaharianos en el transcurso de unas redadas llevadas a cabo en la mañana de ayer en Castillejos.
Fuerzas auxiliares marroquíes desarrollaron distintas acciones para detener a la población subsahariana que habitaba las cuevas situadas detrás del hotel Ibis. La operación comenzó a las diez y media de la mañana y terminó en torno a las dos de la tarde, en la misma se llevó a cabo la quema de las cuevas en donde se ocultaban los subsaharianos con el objetivo de forzar su salida. Al menos dos inmigrantes se quedaron dentro sin poder salir. Testigos presenciales de los hechos han denunciado a la ONG Ca-minando Fronteras que vieron el cadaver de un compañero camerunés de 24 años dentro de la cueva y no localizan a otro compañero que quedó en el interior.

At least six children lost their lives during two separate efforts of migrants and refugees to cross from the Turkish shores to the Greek islands.
In one of the two incidents, one boat transporting migrants and refugees capsized on its way to the Greek island of Lesvos, leaving four Afghan children dead, with their bodies washing up on the Turkish shore of the Ayvacik region. ANA-MPA reports that the remaining 51 Afghan and Syrian passengers were rescued by the Turkish coast guard.
A boat with 46 people on board capsized on the way to the Canary Islands yesterday evening. The Alarm Phone was alerted by a contact person in Morocco who informed us about a boat, which had left on Tuesday morning at 3am from Layoun, trying to reach the Canary Islands. Only 22 young men could be rescued to Spain. One dead body was found and 23 persons are still missing. According to the collective Caminando Fronteras, Salvamento Maritimo was alerted for the first time on Tuesday at 10am and had located the vessel before 2pm. Nevertheless, the rescue-operation started 8 hours later, when the boat had already capsized. How is that possible?

CAIRO (Ma’an) — Egyptian forces on Sunday shot and killed 15 Sudanese migrants who were attempting to illegally cross the border into Israel, Egyptian security sources said.
The sources, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the 15 people were among 23 migrants attempting to illegally cross the border from Egypt’s Rafah city in the northern Sinai into Israel when Egyptian soldiers opened fire.

Rescue services take another 22 survivors to safety on Gran Canaria
Twenty-four people are missing after the migrant boat in which they were traveling from Western Sahara to the Canary Islands capsized 128 nautical miles southwest of the archipelago on Tuesday evening.
Maritime rescue services have taken another 22 survivors to safety at Puerto de Arguineguín, in Mogán, Las Palmas province.
