Eine isländische Küstenwache-Fregatte der Trition-Operation und ein spanisches Forschungsschiff haben jeweils 200 syrische Bootsflüchtlinge zwischen Griechenland und Sizilien (150 Seemeilen von Sizilien entfernt) an Bord genommen. Italienische Behörden hatten den Einsatz koordiniert. Über die Hälfte der Flüchtlinge sind Frauen und Kinder. Vor 10 Tagen hatten sie in der Türkei abgelegt. Ihnen war der Treibstoff ausgegangen.

El buque oceanográfico Sarmiento de Gamboa, perteneciente al Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), ha rescatado esta tarde a unos 200 refugiados sirios que se encontraban a bordo de una barcaza a la deriva en el Mediterráneo en aguas entre Sicilia y Grecia, según ha confirmado el coordinador del CSIC en Roma, Fernando García Sanz.

Two Syrians refugees, among those protesting in Syntagma Square in order to be granted a political asylum, have lost their lives, as their compatriots revealed yesterday. According to them, one died in his attempt to cross the Greek-Albanian border in order to continue his journey to Europe, and the second died while being hospitalized, after suffering a heart attack. It continues to the bitter end, in front of Greek Parliament the garrison and the hunger strike of three hundred Syrians, mostly families with small children , who claim the right to be welcomed in dignity and demand the possibility to leave Greece and reach another European country .

This is a protest that highlights all the negative effects of the Dublin Regulation III, nailing in the first country of entry all the potential asylum seekers ,at the point that many of them prefer to be rejected at the border, or to continue the journey placing themselves in the hands of “land-smugglers „, fueling the business of illegal immigration , rather than be forced to release the fingerprints in a country like Greece , which cannot be defined „safe “ for asylum seekers for the systematic shortcomings of its reception centers and for non-performance of the full-blown European Directives and Regulations relating to international protection .

Auf den griechischen Ägäis-Inseln werden tausende Flüchtlinge nach der Ankunft unter unmenschlichen Lebensbedingungen festgehalten, erklärt die Hilfsorganisation Ärzte ohne Grenzen. Das Aufnahmesystem funktioniert überhaupt nicht. Griechenland und die Europäische Union müssen die Lebensbedingungen für Flüchtlinge, Migranten und Asylsuchende dringend verbessern und ihnen angemessene medizinische Versorgung und Schutz bereitstellen.

Den Behörden zufolge haben dieses Jahr mehr als 14.000 Personen auf der Suche nach Schutz die gefährliche Reise in kleinen Booten von der Türkei zu den griechischen Inseln in der Ägäis unternommen – mehr als 90 Prozent von ihnen stammen aus dem kriegszerrütteten Syrien. Da es zu wenige passende Unterkünfte für sie gibt, müssen viele Flüchtlinge bis zu ihrer Überstellung auf das griechische Festland tagelang in Kälte und Regen im Freien oder in stark überbelegten Zellen in Polizeistationen übernachten.

This information leaflet is for people who are considering to cross the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey.

The undocumented crossing constitutes an offence both in Greece and Turkey and is above all very dangerous. This document aims neither to deter nor to encourage people to attempt the crossing but seeks to provide objective information about risks, rights and vital safety measures to take at sea.

We wish that the information contained in this document can save your life but you should know it will not make the crossing safer. For twenty years, the EU has been denying visas for most applicants. At the same time wars, conflicts and poverty are forcing out of their countries many people who wish to seek protection in Europe.

Despite the lack of legal ways to reach European territory and despite life-threatening dangers, many of you decide to emigrate anyway and cross the sea-border.

From 19/11 a big struggel and hunger strike (24/11) of Syrian Refugees started in the center of Athens infront of the Greek Parlement demanding asylum in EU and protection in general (housing, medical care ext).

The last few days we created a solidarity assembly and movement to support them and becuase they demond a very important thing which is the right to freedom of movment and the responsibality of EU to protact at least the war refugees so I think its important issue. Most of the syrians they dont want to stay in Greece as first Eu country and they dont want to aplly for asylum here so they are in very bad condition mostly homeless in the parks and squires, and  there should be another solution for them, in Greece you if dont have asylum or if you dont aplly for asylum you will not have any right to anything.

POLÍCIA MARÍTIMA INTERCETA 19 IMIGRANTES AO LARGO DA GRÉCIA

Uma equipa da Polícia Marítima portuguesa em missão nas ilhas do Leste da Grécia intercetou, na madrugada de sábado, 19 imigrantes, no âmbito de uma operação da agência europeia FRONTEX, indica um comunicado da Marinha.Entre os imigrantes, que se faziam deslocar numa embarcação de 12 metros, dois são suspeitos de pertencerem a uma rede de imigração ilegal, de acordo com a nota publicada no portal da Marinha.A nacionalidade dos envolvidos está ainda a ser apurada. Contudo, segundo a Marinha, tudo indica que serão, na sua maioria, sírios.
