Memorandum of Understanding between Malta and Libya signed

Statement issued by the Ministry of Home and National Security

Yesterday afternoon a ‘memorandum of understanding’ was signed between the Ministry of Home and National Security, in the Maltese Governments’ name and the Ministry of Libyan Home in the Libyan Governments’ name. The signing of this memorandum happened between Minister Mallia and the Libyan Minister Saaleh M. Abdurraheem Maaziq.

This memorandum is a result of an agreement of co-operation between the two countries in sectors of interest for both countries especially the areas concerning immigration and maritime security. In the case of maritime security, both sides showed the intention for reciprocation of help in training, and the sharing of information and experience between the two sides.

This ‘memorandum of understanding’ is the first step towards more co-operation in sectors that are of interest for both Malta and Libya.
