Sur la Toile : Publié dans la presse : 22 juin 2013 Mise en ligne : mercredi 26 juin 2013 Selon des recherches de l’agence Anadolija, un tiers de la population des Balkans occidentaux, soit dix millions de personnes, vivraient hors des frontières de son pays d’origine. Les principales destinations des migrants sont l’Allemagne, les pays scandinaves, l’Amérique du Nord et l’Australie. Plus de 10 millions de personnes des Balkans occidentaux sont dispersées à travers le monde selon les recherches des journalistes de l’Agence Anadolija. Sur le territoire des Balkans occidentaux, on compte actuellement 25 millions de personnes, ce qui signifie que la diaspora constitue 30% de la population totale de la région.

An der Universität Tamanrasset fand am 21./22.02.2013 eine Konferenz zur Transsahara-Migration statt. Entworfen wurde ein Amalgam, in dem Migrationstendenzen und terroristische Gefahr miteinander verschmolzen wurden.

Surfaces of Longing. Cosmopolitan Aspiration and Frustration in Egypt

Abstract

One of the most ambiguous outcomes of globalization has been the emergence of a large class of people who subscribe to global trends in religion, consumerism, nationalism, sports and popular culture, without having access to the mobility nor the symbolic capital that are associated with cosmopolitanism. This sense of aspiration is far from ephemeral. It is material, it has shape, surface, and form. This photo essay attempts to connect this sensual presence of images, and materials with the sense of longing and discontent involved in looking out to the world from the vantage point of underprivileged social milieus in Egypt.
