In den Jahren 2007 und 2008 sind zahlreiche algerische Harragas von der tunesischen Küstenwache gestoppt und in tunesische Geheimgefängnisse gebracht worden. Ihre Festnahmen durch die tunesische Polizei konnten teilweise registriert werden. Ihre Angehörigen haben sich organisiert und Kasernen aufgespürt, wo sie wohl festgehalten wurden. In den letzten Monaten sind Fotos mancher dieser Harragas und Zeitungsberichte in Tunesien aufgetaucht: Einige sollen kürzlich bei Antiterrorismus-Aktionen in unwegsamem Gelände erschossen worden sein. Die Angehörigen schalten nun die bekanntesten tunesischen MenschenrechtlerInnen ein und fordern eine staatsanwaltliche Untersuchung des Verschwindens der Harragas. Es wird befürchtet, dass sie in tunesischen Geheimgefängnissen unter Folter umgekommen sind und dass ihre kürzlichen „Erschiessungen“ nur vorgetäuscht sind.

Angehörige der Opfer des 03.10.2013 reisen aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern nach Lampedusa und Süditalien, um die Gräber ihrer Verwandten ausfindig zu machen. Sie wurden anonym begraben. Italienische Unterstützung gibt es fast gar nicht.

RABAT – A Cameroonian immigrant plunged to his death when police raided his fourth-floor apartment in Tangiers, raising tensions in the Moroccan city after a similar death in October, activists said Thursday.
Backup forces entered the Cameroonian’s apartment on Wednesday afternoon, in the suburb of Boukhalef, and he fell from the roof of the building shortly afterwards, rights activist Boubker El Khamlichi said by phone from Tangiers. Hundreds of immigrants then marched towards the police headquarters in the northern city, carrying the victim’s body, to protest „crimes“ against them.

Relatives of those who died in one of the worst boat disasters off the shores of Europe in living memory are still waiting to be allowed to take their family members for a proper burial. A total of 366 people – mostly from Eritrea – died when the boat carrying them sank close to the Italian island of Lampedusa.
Church bells sound on the late afternoon breeze as Alem Araya walks through the cemetery in the little Sicilian village of San Biagio Platani.
„Emotional, yes,“ he says quietly. „It’s not easy.“

Melilla, 5 dic (EFE).- Más de 2.270 inmigrantes han conseguido entrar en Melilla en el 2013 -hasta el 1 de diciembre-, una cifra que supone un ligero incremento con la registrada en el 2012, con 2.186 entradas, pero que dista mucho de las 3.245 personas que consiguieron ese objetivo en el 2005, el año de las „avalanchas“.
Según datos facilitados a Efe por la Delegación del Gobierno, tras el 2005, la presión migratoria cayó de manera considerable en los años sucesivos, pero sufrió un gran repunte en el 2011, año que marca el inicio de la situación que se vive en la actualidad.
