The Bourbon Argos, a search and rescue ship deployed by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), has been on a mission to save lives at sea since the 7th of may 2015. Only in June, MSF has rescued at the Bourbon Argos 1.057 migrants, who were sailing in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea using dilapidated boats with little hopes to get to land in Europe.

L’attentat le plus meurtrier de l’histoire du pays, seulement trois mois après l’attaque du Bardo, durant un vendredi de Ramadan particulièrement brutal où a été frappée une zone touristique, visible et exposée. Un acte saisissant. Encore une fois se trouve inversée la logique qui s’était définie ces dernières années, depuis qu’en 2011 le phénomène qui se dit “terrorisme” avait instauré sa stratégie de tension dans le pays. Cette fois d’une manière plutôt explicite en ciblant le tourisme, l’économie et l’Etat. Les victimes sont aujourd’hui au nombre de 40, un bilan qui risque de s’alourdir sachant qu’il y a 36 blessés, dont une bonne partie sont dans un état critique. “Les autres 12 millions de blessés”, récitent les réseaux sociaux, c’est le peuple Tunisien entier et amuï (réduit au silence). Un acte qui met à nu un pays lacéré de problèmes identitaires, économiques, sociaux et sécuritaires, sans oublier les responsabilités politiques.

Fresh disruption was brought to Channel tunnel services after about 150 migrants tried to storm the terminal in Calais in a bid to board UK-bound freight.
Eurotunnel said services were delayed and cancelled after migrants attempted to access restricted areas on the French side.

Die zunehmende Sichtbarkeit des massenhaften Sterbens von Flüchtlingen im Mittelmeer scheint etwas in Bewegung gesetzt zu haben. Aktuell beteiligt sich sogar die Bundeswehr an der Rettung von Flüchtlingen auf dem Mittelmeer und die Daimler AG erklärt sich in Presserklärungen zum Vorreiter der Flüchtlingshelfer. Hat sich das Klima gewandelt?
Hagen Kopp: Die aktuelle Situation ist ein Erfolg. Vor wenigen Monaten wurde Mare Nostrum abgeschafft. Die Politik hat auf Frontex mit der Operation Triton fokussiert. Mit dieser europäischen Entscheidung wurde das Sterben lassen der Flüchtlinge zum Programm gemacht. Außerhalb einer 30-Meilen-Zone sollten die Flüchtlinge sich selbst überlassen bleiben. Alle Rettungskapazitäten wurden systematisch heruntergefahren und vor diesem Hintergrund kam es im April zu mehreren Hundert Toten.
