Almeno 15 tratti in salvo, sei cadaveri recuperati. Si temono decine di morti. Salvini: „Pronti a denunciare il governo per strage“

Roma, 15 novembre 2016 – Nuova, ennesima tragedia nel Mar Mediterraneo. Un gommone carico di migranti è affondato ieri sera a circa 30 miglia dalle coste della Libia. Nel naufragio una petroliera è riuscita a trarre in salvo 15 persone, sei i cadaveri recuperati, mentre sarebbero almeno 100 i migranti dispersi. A cordinare i soccorsi è la Guardia Costiera Italiana che ha inviato sul luogo del naufragio numerose unità. I corpi sono stati recuperati dalla nave della Ong italo-tedesca Sos Mediterranee. E sul naufragio infuria la polemica politica. Con Matteo Salvini che minaccia di denunciare il governo. „Basta. E‘ arrivato il momento di dire basta“, tuona il leader della Lega Nord. E annuncia: „Verificheremo con i nostri legali se è possibile denunciare il Governo per strage e per favoreggiamento dell’immmigrazione clandestina“.

Migranti, almeno 239 dispersi al largo della Libia

Sarebbero 249 i migranti morti nel nuovo naufragio di due gommoni al largo della Libia. Su Twitter la portavoce di Unhcr, Carlotta Sami, scrive che la notizia dell’affondamento dei gommoni è confermata anche da due testimoni.

Il sindaco di Lampedusa, Giusi Nicolini, di ritorno dall’hotspot di Lampedusa e dalla Guardia medica, dove sono ricoverati alcuni dei 29 superstiti, ha detto: „Basta con queste stragi, rischiamo un genocidio vero e proprio“.

300 bodies of migrants recovered from Sabratha beach in 4 months

The team tasked by the Municipality of Sabratha to gather bodies of illegal immigrants from the local shores succeeded in removing 300 bodies from the sea over the last four months, the last being 15 bodies last week alone, the Mayor said.

Mayor Hussein Dawadi said he is continuing his efforts to stem this flow and refuses to stand by helpless, pointing at the fact he had met with the Sheiks of Mosques that give Friday sermons and asked them to highlight this issue to the general public and to explain where the proceeds of such business stand Islamically.

La aviación de combate estadounidense usó bases aéreas en Italia y Grecia para bombardear la ciudad libia de Sirte, que fuerzas yihadistas ocuparon en febrero de 2015, según una información desvelada anoche por la cadena de televisión privada „Al Nabba”. Este canal libio asegura que ha accedido a conversaciones de los pilotos de combate norteamericanos que demuestran que sus cazabombarderos despegaron desde una base en la isla italiana de Sicilia y de otra en la griega de Creta.

Reply to the statement of the Commander of the European operation Sophia on the training of Libya´s so-called “coastguard”.

“It is cynical, that the commander of the operation Sophia, Rear Admiral Enrico Credendino, claims the training of Libyan coastguards could cut the death toll on the med.” Sea-Watch CEO Axel Grafmanns says. “It’s only meant to cut the number of people arriving in Europe, not the number of death on the Mediterranean Sea. There is only one way to cut migrants’ deaths, which is a safe and legal passage”

“We are not against a SAR mission also within the 12 nm zone, as indeed many accidents occur there, however the absolute priority of any training mission has to be an improvement of the humanitarian situation and the SAR capabilities and not to cut down the number of migrants arriving in Europe.” Sea-Watch board member Johannes Bayer states: “Sea-Watch was able to document cases, in which Libyan coastguard carried out forced returns – even far out of territorial waters. These deportations are dictated by the European Union and should be considered as a clear violation of the non-refoulement principle as lives are being put in danger.”

Libyan coastguards in Al-Khums rescued Sunday morning 116 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities in northwestern the city.

According to the spokesman of the Libyan Navy, Ayoub Qasim, the Libyan coastguards were able to save the illegal migrants who were aboard a dinghy that broke down in the middle of the sea one mile off northwestern Al-Khums.

Italy’s coastguard confirms 10 bodies were also recovered in 16 rescue operations carried out on Saturday.

Almost 2,200 refugees and migrants have been rescued off the Libyan coast while 10 bodies have also been recovered from a rubber dinghy, the Italian coastguard said.

Sixteen rescue operations were conducted on Saturday, almost twice as many as on Friday when 1,200 people were rescued.

Das Innenministerium plädiert dafür, im Mittelmeer gerettete Migranten möglichst direkt nach Afrika zurückzuschicken.

„Ziel muss es sein, den Schleuserorganisationen die Grundlage für ihre Geschäfte zu entziehen“, sagte eine Sprecherin.

Der Vorschlag werde auf EU-Ebene noch nicht diskutiert. Es gebe dazu keine konkreten Pläne.

Das Bundesinnenministerium spricht sich dafür aus, im Mittelmeer gerettete Migranten möglichst direkt nach Afrika zurückzuschicken. Das bestätigte das Haus von Innenminister Thomas de Maizière (CDU) der „Welt am Sonntag“.

„Die fehlende Aussicht auf das Erreichen der europäischen Küste könnte ein Grund sein, warum die Migranten davon absehen, unter Einsatz ihres Lebens und hoher eigener finanzieller Mittel die gefährliche Reise anzutreten“, sagte eine Sprecherin. „Ziel muss es sein, den Schleuserorganisationen die Grundlage für ihre Geschäfte zu entziehen und die Migranten vor der lebensgefährlichen Überquerung des Mittelmeeres zu bewahren.“ Einen ähnlichen Ansatz verfolgt Australien, wo die Zahl der illegalen Einreisen auf fast null zurückgegangen ist.

Nachrichten von Todesopfern unter Flüchtlingen im Mittelmeer sind zu einer schrecklichen Routine geworden. Nun werden besonders grausame Details von der jüngsten Katastrophe mit über 200 Todesopfern bekannt. Die EU muss sich schwere Kritik anhören.

Vor der Katastrophe mit wahrscheinlich fast 240 Toten im Mittelmeer haben Schleuser nach UN-Angaben auf Flüchtlinge geschossen, damit sie an Bord gehen. Das Kinderhilfswerk Unicef teilte mit, Augenzeugen hätten berichtete, dass sie nicht auf das Schiff gehen wollten, weil es ihnen unsicher erschienen sei. „Aber die Schmuggler schossen auf sie und zwangen sie, zu gehen“, sagte Helena Rodriguez vom UN-Kinderhilfswerks Unicef. Am Donnerstag war bekannt geworden, dass nach dem Kentern mehrerer Flüchtlingsboote wenige Kilometer vor der libyschen Küste mindestens 239 Menschen vermisst werden.

In einem ausführlichen Bericht konstatiert das ICG ein Scheitern der UN-vermittelten „Regierung der nationalen Einheit“ und der beiden weiteren libyschen Regierungen. Stattdessen sei ein allgemeiner politischer „Reset“ nötig. Andernfalls bleibe auch die Bekämpfung des sog. „Menschenschmuggels“, d.h. der Abfahrt der Flüchtlingsboote, Makulatur.

„V.  Conclusion

The absence of a security dialogue and agreement among competing internal and external actors has rendered the well-intentioned Skhirat accord impossible to fully implement at this time. It is critical to return to hammer out a security agreement that can be married to those elements of the accord that both sides support. On its current trajectory, the peace process is headed for a failure that would leave pressing international issues unresolved, such as combating people-smugglers and jihadist groups, and ensure dramatic worsening of living conditions for most Libyans. What has been achieved by the UN-led negotiations – broad agreement on the need for a transitional framework and some of its critical political elements – would be lost. The December 2015 agreement could have been imposed on recalcitrant actors had they been marginal and the international community united. That was not the case. Salvaging a political solution requires dealing with the fragmented and deeply frustrating Libya that exists, with its local leaders and armed groups, not the one we wish for.
