EU and Tunisia establish their Mobility Partnership
Tunisia and the EU today formally established a Mobility Partnership. A joint declaration was signed by Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Tahar Cherif, Tunisian Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, and the Ministers of the ten EU Member States involved in the Partnership: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

„Llega a Melilla una patera con 15 inmigrantes, la segunda en 24 horas
Melilla ha registrado la segunda llegada de una patera en dos días a pesar de sufrir rachas de vientos superiores a los 80 kilómetros por hora. Según ha informado la Delegación, se trata de una embarcación neumática, con 15 inmigrantes a bordo, logró esta madrugada acceder a Melilla, sobre la 01.45 horas, por la zona del puerto comercial, a la altura del antiguo faro.

Zwei Jahre lang war der Tahrir-Platz Symbol des Aufbruchs aus Erstarrung und Krise. Der Militärputsch vom Sommer 2013 beendete diese Phase. Mit den hunderten von Toten sind viele Illusionen und Hoffnungen begraben worden. Wesentliche Teile des liberalen Milieus haben staatliche Massaker und Massenverhaftungen zur »Verteidigung der Demokratie« akzeptiert. Auch die Hoffnung auf eine staatliche Lösung der sozialen Misere ging verloren; die letzten Erben des Nasserismus und Hoffnungsträger der Gewerkschaftsbewegung sitzen nun am (Katzen-)Tisch der Militärs. Ihre vagen Reformversprechen werden von ihren Aufrufen zu Ruhe, Ordnung und Arbeitsbereitschaft übertönt.

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT: DO NOT VOTE IN FAVOUR OF AN EU-TURKEY READMISSION AGREEMENT!
On 26 February, the European Parliament will vote on the “EU-Turkey agreement on the readmission of persons residing without authorisation”. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) and Migreurop call upon the European Parliament to vote against this agreement until the full respect of rights of migrants and refugees can be guaranteed at all stages of the readmission procedure.

Refugee Legal Aid in Morocco: Moroccan NGO launches lawyer training program in border city of Oujda
Anna Jacobs is is student at the University of Oxford and is undertaking an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies.
The Moroccan non-governmental organization Droit et Justice has launched its training program in refugee law in the border city of Oujda. This program represents an integral component of the Legal Aid Program for Refugees in Morocco, known by its French acronym AJRM. This initiative came to fruition thanks to the financial support of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network and the British Embassy of Morocco, in collaboration with the Oujda Bar Association.

Ceuta: Brief summary of conversations with a group of Camerounese migrants who entered Ceuta on the 6th of February
In the early morning of the 6th of February in Castillago/Fnideq, next to the border of Ceuta, a group of 400 migrants, mostly Camerounese, achieved to swim around the fence which seperates Ceuta from Morocco and entered into Spanish water, though they were being attacked by Moroccan police. The Guardia Civil attacked the migrants when they arrived at the brigde in front of the gate to Ceuta, at a point where they were still in Morocco. The Guardia Civil also had a small boat with a Spanish flag from which they were pumping teargas into the water, hitting the people with sticks and driving over the people who were swimming.

Nachdem der Bund die Risiken des Deals Anfang Februar mit einer Hermes-Bürgschaft abgesichert habe, sei der Vertrag mit dem saudi-arabischen Innenministerium „nun endgültig in Kraft getreten“, teilte Lürssen am Freitagabend mit. Das Auftragsvolumen und die Zahl der Schiffe blieben ungenannt. Medienberichten zufolge geht es um mehr als eine Milliarde Euro.

„Demonstration für Bleiberecht. Tausende gegen Abschiebungen
Rund 4.000 Menschen gehen für ein Bleiberecht für die Lampedusa-Flüchtlinge auf die Straße. Ein Sprecher der Gruppe dementiert den Streit mit der Kirche.
Die Politik des Hamburger SPD-Senats gegenüber den Lampedusa-Flüchtlingen bringt auch nach fast einem Jahr noch Tausende auf die Straße. Rund 4.000 Menschen haben am Samstagnachmittag dafür demonstriert, dass die etwa 300 über Libyen und Italien nach Deutschland geflohenen Afrikaner als Gruppe ein Bleiberecht in der Hansestadt bekommen.
