Dreisprachige Broschüre zu gemischter Organisierung, Definitionsmacht und Critical Whiteness [deutsch/englisch/französisch]
Anlässlich der noborder lasts forever-Konferenz in Frankfurt (http://conference.w2eu.net/) hat die Initiative transact unter dem Titel „Wie ist deine Freiheit mit meiner verbunden“ eine 40-seitige Broschüre zu gemischter Organisierung, Definitionsmacht und Critical Whiteness erstellt.
Die Broschüre liegt auf deutsch, englisch und französisch vor und kann gegen Portokosten bei uns bestellt oder im Internet runtergeladen werden:

Zum Hintergrund: Seit mindestens 25 Jahren wird unter dem Stichwort der Definitionsmacht immer wieder kontrovers über den Umgang mit sexualisierter Gewalt innerhalb linker Zusammenhänge diskutiert. Hinzu kommt, dass mittlerweile eine Ausdehnung des Konzepts der Definitionsmacht gefordert wird, unter anderem solle diese im Falle rassistischer Diskriminierungen zum Tragen kommen. Wir schätzen die entsprechenden Debatten, weil wir die damit verknüpften Fragen wichtig finden – beispielsweise über Dominanzen, Paternalismen oder unterschiedliche Ausgangsbedingungen und somit auch (Nicht-)Privilegien. Und doch sind die Auseinandersetzungen in vielen Fällen alles andere als konstruktiv verlaufen, stellvertretend hervorgehoben seien die beiden Nobordercamps in Köln und Stockholm im Sommer 2012. Denn im Zentrum stand nicht selten die These, dass unter den gegebenen rassistischen Bedingungen so etwas wie eine gleichberechtige Zusammenarbeit zwischen refugees und non-refugees bzw. zwischen People of Colour- und ‚europäisch-weißen‘- Aktivist_innen nicht möglich sei. Dies hat nicht nur zu Enttäuschungen, Zerwürfnissen und massiver Verunsicherung geführt. Vielmehr ist es auch zu einer Diskreditierung von Konzepten wie Defintionsmacht oder Critical Whiteness gekommen, schlicht deshalb, weil einzelne Fraktionen immer wieder extrem autoritär, identitär und polarisierend agiert haben. Das ist der Grund, weshalb sich die vorliegende Broschüre mit den erwähnten und vielen weiteren Fragen beschäftigt, allerdings unter Bezug auf unsere Erfahrungen in transidentitär bzw. transnational zusammengesetzten Netzwerken wie NoLager (2002-2007), Welcome to Europe und Afrique-Europe-Interact (beide seit 2009). Denn so schwierig die Herausforderungen sind, wir glauben, dass es möglich ist, in gemischten Netzwerken oder Gruppen gleichberechtigt und respektvoll zusammenzuarbeiten – trotz Allem!

On the occasion of the no border lasts forever-conference in Frankfurt (http://conference.w2eu.net/) the initiative transact has put together with the title „How is your liberation bound up with mine“ a 40-pages brochure about mixed Organizing-Processes, the Power of Definition and Critical Whiteness. The background: For at least 25 years there have been [in Germany] controversial debates about the handling of sexualized violence in left movements under the heading ‚Power of Definition‘. In addition, in the meantime it has been demanded that the concept of Power of Definition should be extended and for example also be applied in cases of racist discrimination. We appreciate the respective debates, because we find the questions, which are linked to them important – for example about dominances, paternalism or different starting conditions and therefore also (non-)privileges. Nevertheless the debates have often proceeded in a way, which was everything but constructive; for example in the two Nobordercamps in Cologne und Stockholm in the summer of 2012. Because quite often the debates evolved around the thesis that something like an equitable cooperation of refugees and non-refugees respective People of Colour and ‚European-white‘ activists would not be possible under the given racist conditions. This has not only lead to frustrations, discords and massive uncertainty. It has also resulted in a discrediting of concepts like Power of Definition or Critical Whiteness, simply because individual fractions have acted in an extremely authoritarian, identitarian and polarizing way. This is the reason why the brochure at hand deals with the mentioned and many other questions; however with reference to our experiences in transidentitarian respective transnational networks like NoLager (2002-2007), Welcome to Europe und Afrique-Europe-Interact (both since 2009). Because how difficult the challenges are, we believe that it is possible to work together in mixed networks or groups in an equitable and respectful way – in spite of everything !

À l’occasion de la conférence „noborder lasts forever“ à Francfort (http://conference.w2eu.net/), l’initiative „transact a crée, sous le titre „Comment ta liberté est liée à la mienne“, une brochure (40 pages) sur l’organisation mixte, le pouvoir de définition et le critical whiteness. La brochure est disponible en allemand, anglais et fraincais. On peut la commander au frais de port ou télécharger de notre site web.
Le contexte de la brochure: Depuis au moins 25 années, il y a [en Allemagne] beaucoup de discussions sous le mot-clé du „pouvoir de définition“ concernant la manière dont la violence sexualisée est géré au sein des mouvements socials. En plus il y a entre-temps l’exigence d’élargir le domain d’application du pouvoir de definition – entre outre dans les cas des discriminations racistes. Nous apprécions ces débats parce que les questions à ce sujet sont à nos yeux très importantes – par example en matière de dominations, paternalismes ou positions différents et par conséquent en matière de (non-)privilègs. Néanmoins les altercations souvent n’étaienent pas très constructives. De manière exemplaire nous voulons référer aux deux Noborder-camps à Cologne et Stockholm à l’été 2012. Parce que la thèse était encore et toujours au centre que, sous les conditions racistes actuelles, il ne serait pas possible de créer les rélations du même titres entre les réfugiè-e-s et les non-réfugiè-e-s ou entre les People of Colour (migrants) et les militants blancs-européens/les mitantes blanches-européennes. La conséquence n’étaient que les désillusions, les désaccords et les inquiétudes massives. Au lieu de cela des concepts comme le pouvoir de définition ou Critical whiteness ont été discrédités, simplement parce que certaines fractions ont agi dans une manière autoritaire, identitaire et polarisante. C’est pourquoi cette brochure s’occupe des questions mentionnés et beaucoup d’autres questions, mais avec la référence à nos expériences dans les réseaux composés trans-nationales et trans-identitaires par des participant-e-s, comme NoLager (2002-2007), Welcome to Europe et Afrique-Europe-Interact (depuis 2009). Car, au mépris des défis difficiles, nous pensons que c’est possible de cooperer dans les réseaus ou groupes mixtes avec l’égalité et le respect – malgré tout!
