Deportee killed in Saudi detention center riot
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — A detainee died in a stampede during a riot at a Saudi detention center for migrant workers awaiting deportation, police said Monday, adding that nine others were injured.

„Granted political asylum in December, Farhad, detained for 14 months at the detention centre in Corinth, said detainees were packed scores to a room and often beaten by police. In protest at the appalling conditions, he and others sowed their mouths together and went on hunger strike“

Dunque le navi di Mare Nostrum hanno funzionato come mezzi di raccolta. Per selezionare i naufraghi e deciderne la sorte, in mare, prima dello sbarco ad Augusta ( Siracusa) o in altro porto „da destinarsi“. Forse ancora Pozzallo, dove esiste un CPSA, centro di primo soccorso ed accoglienza, cronicamente al collasso. E questa volta non è mancato lo sbarco temporaneo di una parte dei naufraghi a Lampedusa, per un successivo imbarco su mezzi della guardia costiera ed altri trasbordi. Un vero calvario inflitto ad uomini, donne, minori che, dopo la Libia, non credevano forse di subire altri abusi.
Yesterday, around 10.000 people marched against the detention center for migrants (CIE) of Rome Ponte Galeria. In the days before police arrested 17 comrades from the movement for the right to the house very active in the mobilization against the CIE and deported back to their countries several migrants that did the hunger strike against the detention. The same day of the march cops confiscated the truck with the amplification, making impossible to communicate during the demonstration.

After the mobilizations of last autumn for house and basic income, the “Mestiza Rome” retook the square the 18th of december. A big and determined parade crossed the streets of the capital city during the “international day for migrants” to ask an organic law on political asylum, the closing of the detention centers (CIE), a decent welcome and the cancellation of all the laws that attack the people freedom of movement and right to choice where to go and live. Indeed, the transnational mobility of the migrants challenge the neoliberal policies of austerity and confinement, setting the issue of building a new social model, a new way of common life, that force the narrow borders of the national states and the rhetoric of center-right and center-left parties about welcome and multiculturalism.

Untersuchung zeigt gravierende Mängel bei der Umsetzung der Rückführungsrichtlinie in Spanien, Italien und Zypern
Unmenschliche und rechtswidrige Bedingungen in der Abschiebungshaft
Vom 1. August 2012 bis zum 31. Januar 2014 hat borderline-europe e.V. in Kooperation mit den Partnerorganisationen KISA in Zypern, Borderline Sicilia in Italien und Mugak und Acoge in Spanien die Umsetzung der so genannten Rückführungsrichtlinie der EU (2008/115/EG) und hierbei insbesondere die konkrete Ausgestaltung der Abschiebungshaft in den drei Ländern untersucht.
