Un important mouvement de protestation se développe en Europe, et maintenant en France, devant la défection, voire la véritable lâcheté, de nombreux gouvernements face à l’afflux des réfugiés fuyant les guerres, les attentats et les effondrements économiques du Moyen-Orient, d’Afrique et d’Afghanistan. L’opinion française et internationale prend clairement conscience que la crise ouverte depuis plus de six ans ne se résoudra pas par des mesures locales de coercition, par des murs frontaliers ou des retours forcés.

Seine Zivilcourage und seine einfache Menschlichkeit haben beeindruckt. Diese Anerkennung aus der Bevölkerung mag dem 37-jährigen Landwirt, der im Roya-Tal im bergigen Hinterland an der französisch Grenze zu Ventimiglia in Italien von seinen Oliven und dem Verkauf von Eiern lebt, ein Trost und eine Ermutigung sein. Denn er ist wegen seines Engagements für Flüchtlinge aus Eritrea, Sudan und anderen Ländern vor Gericht gestellt worden wie ein krimineller Schlepper.

Los dos activistas detenidos en Grecia por intentar traer refugiados a Euskadi, el vizcaino Mikel Zuloaga y la navarra Begoña Huarte, afirmaron ayer que tras su acción se sienten “más personas” y anunciaron que “lo volverán a hacer”. Zuloaga y Huarte llegaron pasadas las doce y diez del mediodía al aeropuerto de Loiu procedentes de Atenas, vía Fráncfort. Allí fueron recibidos por familiares y amigos, así como por un centenar de personas que exhibieron banderas de la plataforma Ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak y pancartas en las que se podía leer en euskeraLa solidaridad no es delito. Sentenza di assoluzione in Francia per Pierre-Alain Mannoni, un insegnante ricercatore di 45 anni, finito alla sbarra a Nizza per aver aiutato alcuni migranti in cammino dall’Italia alla Francia. Lo scorso ottobre, Mannoni era stato fermato dalla polizia transalpina al pedaggio di Mentone, tra Ventimiglia e Nizza, con tre eritrei a bordo, incluso una minorenne. La procura aveva chiesto una condanna a 6 mesi ma il giudice ha deciso diversamente. Uscendo dal tribunale questa mattina l’insegnante ha mimato il segno della vittoria.

NICE, France — At times it was hard to know who was on trial, the smuggler or the state.
The defendant, Cédric Herrou, 37, a slightly built olive farmer, did not deny that for months he had illegally spirited dozens of migrants through the remote mountain valley where he lives. He would do it again, he suggested.
Instead, when asked by a judge, “Why do you do all this?” Mr. Herrou turned the tables and questioned the humanity of France’s practice of rounding up and turning back Africans entering illegally from Italy in search of work and a better life. It was “ignoble,” he said.
“There are people dying on the side of the road,” Mr. Herrou replied. “It’s not right. There are children who are not safe. It is enraging to see children, at 2 in the morning, completely dehydrated.
“I am a Frenchman,” Mr. Herrou declared.

Spanish police in Ceuta released this photo on Sunday
Police have detained two Moroccans who tried to smuggle migrants into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta – two hidden in a car and one in a suitcase.
When police checked a car on Monday one person was found hidden in the dashboard and another in the hollowed-out back seat.
The man and woman, thought to be Guineans, received first aid as they had had little air to breathe.
Separately, a young African man was found hidden in a woman’s suitcase.

A Greek court on Friday ordered the conditional release of two Spanish self-styled activists arrested for allegedly trying to take a group of migrants out of the country.
Mikel Zuloaga, 61, and Begona Huarte, 59, were released on bail of 2,000 euros ($2,100) each pending a trial whose date has not been set, a coastguard source told AFP.
