In einem dringlichen Appell ruft das FTDES den UNHCR und die tunesische Regierung auf, die Stromversorgung für die nicht-anerkannten Flüchtlinge im Wüstenlager Choucha wieder anzustellen. Durch die Stromkappung funktionieren die Brunnen nicht mehr – die nicht-anerkannten Flüchtlinge sind jetzt auch ohne Wasser. Zuvor war ihnen jegliche weitergehende Versorgung (Lebensmittel, Schule für die Kinder etc.) gestrichen worden.
Die anerkannten Flüchtlinge im Wüstenlager Choucha leben in einem abgetrennten Lagerteil bzw. sollen dorthin umziehen.

In the evening the globale film festival opened their festival with the film »babylon«, which main protagonist is the choucha camp. Emmanuel Gatoni, Riadh Ben Amar and the filmmakers presented the film and the current situation in choucha. afterwards an interesting discussion took place.

Soutien aux réfugiés de Choucha en grève de la faim en Tunisie
„La France reçoit 1 réfugié“ !
Suite à l’appel de soutien des grévistes de la faim du camp de Choucha en Tunisie, une délégation* des associations membres du FALDI (Forum des Associations des Luttes Démocratique de l’Immigration) a été reçue jeudi 11 avril 2013 par le représentant du HCR à Paris. L’entretien a porté sur les revendications des réfugiés de Choucha, en l’occurrence la demande de réexamen des dossiers des 300 personnes déboutés par le HCR à Tunis ; le maintien d’ouverture du camp de Choucha et le rétablissement de l’eau et de l’électricité en attendant le règlement définitif ; l’admission des 600 réfugiés reconnus par le HCR dans d’autres pays où les conditions d’accueil du statut de réfugié sont reconnus et garantis. Le représentant du HCR nous a informé que sur les 600 personnes ayants obtenus le statut de réfugié, 400 ont déjà eu une promesse de réinstallation. Les 200 autres n’ont, jusqu’à aujourd’hui, reçu aucune destination. Concernant les 300 personnes déboutées, le représentant du HCR a affirmé qu’elles peuvent faire la demande de réexamen de leur situation au cas où des éléments nouveaux apparaissent. Concernant la fermeture totale du camp de Choucha en juin 2013, le représentant du HCR n’a donné aucune garantie pour une solution alternative. La délégation des associations du FALDI a, de son côté, mis en garde le HCR des conséquences graves de la fermeture du camp, avant que la situation de l’ensemble des réfugiés ne soit régularisée. Par ailleurs, nous avons appris, depuis la mise en place du plan de réinstallation des réfugiés venant de Libye suite à la guerre, le gouvernement français n’a accueilli qu’une seule personne réfugiée, et ce malgré sa responsabilité suite à son engagement militaire dans la guerre menée en Libye. – Nous appellons le HCR et le gouvernement tunisien à trouver d’urgence une solution qui garantisse l’intégrité physique et morale des hommes, femmes et enfants qui risquent d’être laissés pour compte à la suite de la décision de fermeture du Camp de Choucha, d’ici le mois de juin. – Nous appelons la communauté internationale, le gouvernement tunisien et le gouvernement français à prendre leurs responsabilités pour résoudre ce drame humanitaire. – Nous appelons les organisations de la société civile en Tunisie, au Maghreb, en France et en Europe à renforcer leur soutien aux grévistes de la faim pour l’aboutissement de leurs revendications légitimes.

Flüchtlinge aus dem Lager Choucha im Süden Tunesiens, die vor Krieg und Verfolgung in Libyen geflohen sind, haben schon vor zwei Wochen während des Weltsozialforums in Tunis versucht, ihre dramatische Situation und ihre Forderungen an die Weltöffentlichkeit zu bringen. Seit dem 29.03. befinden sich 41 anerkannte Flüchtlinge (vor allem aus dem Sudan, Eritrea und Somalia), denen die Einbeziehung in das sog. Resettlementprogramm verwehrt wurde und die stattdessen in Tunesien „lokal integriert“ werden sollen, vor dem UNHCR-Gebäude in Tunis im Hungerstreik. Weiterlesen »
Die Situation der anerkannten Flüchtlinge aus dem Lager Choucha, die seit dem 29.3. vor dem UNHCR-Büro in Tunis im Hungerstreik sind, spitzt sich zu. Sieben Flüchtlinge wurden schon ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert. Der UNHCR hat bisher jedes Gespräch verweigert. Dringend sind mails, Faxe, Anrufe und Solidaritätsaktionen erwünscht, spätestens am nächsten Donnerstag, an dem in Tunis eine Demonstration dazu geplant ist.

Forty-one sub-Saharan refugees from the Shousha camp knocked on the doors of the influential World Social Forum demanding human dignity.
The lack of recognition and concrete solutions encouraged them to collectively start a hunger strike in front of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) offices in Tunis on March 29th 2013, putting their health already very fragile in grave danger.
The twelfth World Social Forum has just ended its Tunisian edition which was held from March 26th to March 30th 2013 with the blessing of the Tunisian authorities and numerous international NGOs. Dignity was the slogan of this gathering of NGOs, trade unions, along with Tunisian and international civil society. I would now like to draw your attention to the following urgent situation.
