Migranti, camion italiano fermato in Inghilterra: a bordo 27 persone nel frigo

La polizia del Surrey li ha arrestati con l’accusa di „ingresso illegale“ nel Regno Unito. Gli uomini, tutti tra i 15 e 45 anni, erano disidratati. L’autista è un 50enne di nazionalità italiana: arrestato per favoreggiamento

Un camion con targa italiana è stato fermato in Inghilterra: a bordo, nascoste nel cassone frigorifero, c’erano 27 migranti. A scoprire le presenza delle persone nascoste nel camion frigorifero, e disidratate, è stata la polizia del Surrey, Inghilterra meridionale, che li ha arrestati con l’accusa di “ingresso illegale” nel Regno Unito, come riferito da Sky News. Il camion era fermo nella stazione di servizio di Cobham, nella contea del Surrey. L’autista, sarebbe “un 50enne di nazionalità italiana”, come ha riferito senza fornire le generalità all’Ansa una fonte dell’Home office, il ministero dell’Interno britannico. L’uomo è stato arrestato: è accusato di “favoreggiamento” dell’immigrazione clandestina.

Motorway blocked! – The jungle’s answer to Theresa May’s visit to Calais

Today Theresa May and Bernard Cazeneuve came to town. They told some lies, spilled some ink, and took a walk. Of course, they made sure to get no where close the jungle or speak to any of those people who would be directly effected by their malign decisions. However, people here were not going to let their visit pass without making a statement.

There was a demonstration held in the city center. Local Calaisiens and people from the jungle got together and tried to get close to the Prefecture and express their disgust with the so-termed “solutions” to the crisis in Calais that were being presented today. Although few, they were able to get quite close to the Prefecture before being met and forced back by CRS.

Calais/London – Angesichts des Flüchtlingsandrangs am Ärmelkanal richten die britische und die französische Polizei ein gemeinsames Kommando- und Kontrollzentrum im nordfranzösischen Calais ein. Die Zentrale diene der Verfolgung „organisierter Krimineller“, die versuchen, Migranten illegal nach Nordfrankreich und durch den Ärmelkanal nach Großbritannien zu schmuggeln, teilte das britische Innenministerium am Donnerstag mit.

In Calais stand ein Sicherheitstor trotz Millionen, die in den Zaun und die Überwachungstechnik investiert wurden, weit offen

Großbritannien will bekanntlich möglichst keine Flüchtlinge aufnehmen. Zu Hunderten versuchen diese in Calais, irgendwie mit dem Zug oder in LKWs durch den Eurotunnel nach Großbritannien zu kommen. Nicht nur im Mittelmeer, sondern auch hier sterben immer wieder Flüchtlinge bei dem Versuch, ins Gelobte Land zu kommen, das alles andere als erfreut ist.

„[…] Frankreich und Großbritannien hat die Europäische Kommission den beiden Ländern ihre Hilfe zugesagt. Um mit den Herausforderungen durch die erhöhten Flüchtlingszahlen fertig zu werden, bekomme Frankreich 20 Millionen Euro, teilte der für Migration zuständige EU-Kommissar Dimitris Avramopoulos am Dienstagabend in Brüssel mit. Großbritannien habe bereits 27 Millionen Euro zu diesem Zweck erhalten. Das Geld kommen demnach aus für die beiden Länder vorgesehenen Fonds für Einwanderung und Integration für den Zeitraum 2014 bis 2020. Die EU-Kommission bot überdies technische Hilfe an, etwa bei der Bearbeitung von Asylanträgen. „Die EU-Grenzschutzagentur Frontex kann helfen, Migranten zu registrieren, mit den Herkunfts- und Transitländern zusammenzuarbeiten, um die Ausstellung von Reisedokumenten für eine Rückkehr zu beschleunigen, und gemeinsame Abschiebungen zu koordinieren und zu finanzieren“, erklärte Avramopoulos. C’è la tentazione di banalizzarla, questa vicenda, collocandola in qualche serie da saggezza popolare tipo ‘Chi la fa l’aspetti’, o peggio ancora ‘Mal comune mezzo gaudio’. E, invece, la vicenda di Calais, che non è uguale a quella di Ventimiglia, anche se si legge che è la stessa, ed è diversa da quella della barriera tra Ungheria e Serbia, ma per molti versi le assomiglia, sta nella serie dei drammi delle migrazioni e dell’incapacità dell’Europa di affrontarli a livello nazionale – impossibile – e a livello di Unione – difficile, in ogni caso.

Il Telegraph pubblica una lettera aperta scritta dal ministro dell’Interno della Gran Bretagna insieme al suo collega francese. Si fa riferimento alla „situazione di crisi“ come „priorità europea e internazionale“, con le stesse parole che l’Italia rivolgeva a Bruxelles, quando era Cameron a dire no alle quote per l’accoglienza

LONDRA – La Gran Bretagna, alle prese con la situazione drammatica dei migranti, si ritrova a formulare lo stesso appello che l’Italia rivolgeva al premier d’oltre Manica, David Cameron, nel pieno degli sbarchi a Lampedusa, quando Londra si opponeva alle quote per l’accoglienza. Ora che un fronte si è aperto a Calais, il governo britannico sottoscrive insieme a quello francese un testo per dire che il problema immigrazione non riguarda solo i due Paesi che si trovano agli estremi dell’Eurotunnel preso d’assalto da chi vuole entrare in Inghilterra. Solo nella notte tra sabato e domenica sono stati circa 300 i migranti che hanno sfidato controlli e barriere di sicurezza.
