From the 15th of September 2015, according to Hungarian state regulations the Hungarian armed military forces “defend” the southern borders of the country. (The picture shows mainly Syrian refugees at Röszke who took the last train that left the country, heading towards Western Europe.)

In the summer of 2015, fleeing from war zones and complete hopelessness, thousands of people arrived in Hungary. They would not have been taken care of or received any support here without the well-organized help of voluntary groups constantly growing in number. Many of the volunteers continue their work up to this day, providing food and warm clothes to the people trapped at the borders and keeping the refugees’ hope alive with their help and compassionate presence.
